One can see why the Soviet Union quickly dropped Marx and communism after the Revolution and never attempted to practice communism again. Also why no nation has practiced Marxian communism.

The reason the soviet union collapsed was because communism, socialism, central planning do not work. And contrary to your bullshit assertions and the end of the USSR there was such a huge black market that even the KGB could not control.

I wonder where I said communism worked? Oh well! Anyway, the USSR, probably as early as 1921, dropped its path to communism realizing it didn't work and would never work. The Soviet Union then tried a new economic system and that didn't work either so it dropped the NEP and by that time Stalin was in and they tried his five year plans. They worked a little better but were not communism, though she continued to tell the world and much of the world believed her, that she was still on the road to communism.
I have seen the USSR's economic system described in textbooks as many things including state capitalism, but the policial system was the old tried and true dictatorship.
Does anyone know of any country that today is, or has practiced, Marxian communism?

On this day perhaps we should give up our political bravado of how independent of government we are. We are all dependent on government. If citizens were not dependent on government there would be no need for government. But on this day we should recognize that we constituted our government to assure that we have life, liberty and able to pursue happiness. We are all dependent on government, different dependencies perhaps, but dependent. It's the other guys dependency we don't like.

A government's purpose is to preserve freedom and nothing more.
