In God we trust South Dakota will require in God we trust signs in all public schools under new stat

I never said that it did. I believe in a higher power. It just doesn't involve any pope or some shithead like frankie graham or focus on the family or any other barking fundie.

and neither do the signs, they in no way promote or teach any religion,,,

Then why are they there? Parents of the children will teach their own way in their own homes. What do public schools have anything to do with it? Why do these signs mention "God"? Why not "be nice and respectful toward your fellow humans"?

thats a different subject,,,and being nice is very rude because most times you have to lie to do it,,,,

and one reason to put them there is its fun to watch snowflakes lose their minds, the other is its a good idea to trust in something bigger than yourself just like patriotism,,
Many people believe in a higher power. Others do not. Let the parents do the instructing.

thanks for your op[inion,,but the people of that state can decide for themselves,,

mind your own business and the world will be a better place,,,

OH and religion still isnt being taught so done get your panties in a wad,,,

Why is this an issue, then? I am minding my own business. The parents in South Dakota are free to instruct their children. Why are politicians in South Dakota butting their heads into parents' business?

havent heard of any of them complaining have you???

but there will be some carpet baggers complaining before long

what religion???

Patriotism should never be linked to any religion. Is this clear? Love of country has nothing to do with an adherence to any sect of any religion.
Patriotism should never be linked to any religion. Is this clear?

Our Founding Fathers, even the non-Christians, said otherwise in our Declaration Of Independence.

What non-Christian Founding Fathers (what, no Founding Mothers?)? What religion do you have in mind? In the colonies, white people had a wide variety of religious thought, anyway, and people were beaten, banished, and murdered because of the religious bickering. What is the religion of everyone in South Dakota? Religion and patriotism should never be linked.

you have yet to say what religion is being taught,,,

That is what I have been asking, and no one is answering. Patriotism is a very different thing from religion. What religion is practiced by every person in South Dakota? Is South Dakota like Iran or Saudi Arabia?
Lol
Do you live in South Dakota?
...That’s what I thought
So shut the fuck up

In God We Trust: South Dakota will require "In God We Trust" signs in all public schools under new state law - CBS News
A new law in South Dakota now requires all public schools across the state to feature the "In God We Trust" motto on display. Students returning to school this fall will be greeted by the message, which supporters say is meant to "inspire patriotism.".......

Good for them don't like it then it really sucks to be you. I don't go to church and I could care less if it's there I appreciate the CHOICE OF FREE WILL!!! Commies can't and don't.

What choice and free will is required?

If it's free will and choice it wouldn't be required.

What it is, is a violation of the constitution, the first and fourteenth Amendments.

Why do you christians feel you have the right to force your religion on everyone? Are you insecure about your faith? I mean someone who is secure with their faith doesn't need to put words from their bible everywhere and certainly don't need to force those words on those who don't want to see them or aren't christian. A faith that needs to force itself on everyone isn't faith. It's what communists and dictators do.

Why can't you be happy with having your religion away from the public and not force it on everyone else?

I wonder how you people would react if someone of the muslim faith tried to put their scripture up in public schools for your children to see and read everyday?

No court in this nation will uphold this.
Lol
No one has to look at the words, South Dakota’s have no problem with it.
Do you need to quit forcing your socialism another people you spineless piece of shit...

or it might be because they are not teaching a religion but just telling people to believe in something higher than yourself,,,

after all the world doesnt revolve around your fat ass

You seem to swear and scream a lot. You have a dirty mouth, and from the froth that drips from your mouth, I assume that you are a cult member.

Don't the people of South Dakota have any rights?

No. I'm not going to shut up. This is not the first time that the politicians in South Dakota have passed laws that appear to be attempts to force a form of cult religiosity on to the public. They even pass laws mandating what doctors must tell their patients. What is "religious freedom" if the parents cannot take their children to Sunday school, Hebrew school, Muslim worship, Hindu worship, Buddhist worship, Sikh worship, or choose not to raise their children in a faith?

Let the parents do it.

BTW: when I was in elementary school (way back when) there were two Jewish girls in my class, Cheryl and Michelle, every day they were forced to listen to the Christian prayer, the "Our Father," which had an ending on it that was different depending on whether one was Roman Catholic or Protestant, so I was always confused between church and school. I don't know how confused Cheryl and Michelle were. I hope that they are still alive and out there being good Jewish women. Or not. As is their choice.

Because they're not?

so your comment was full of shit,,,

I already knew that,,,
You are clearly of limited intelligence if think nothing preceded Christianity on this continent. Typical arrogance of a religion.
Lol
Superstition was here my ancestors, American Indians were full of it… Worshiping dirt and sticks and shit...

Not sure that is any worse than worshipping a zombie and eating his flesh and blood.
Lol
It is beyond your understanding I’m sure, Common sense eludes you
Actually there is nothing common sense about religion.

Sure there is...it's just over your head

Parents should handle a child's religious instruction. There have been too many instances in which school staff have either tried to recruit children into a particular faith or have invited outside recruiters into public schools to lecture the students. This should not be allowed.

that violates the 1st amendment,,,

Religion is a person's stupidity which violence-inducing capability no amount of education or regulation may be able to correct. Another reason why it's not over our heads:

" The First Amendment commands that the government "shall make no law" either "respecting an establishment of religion" or "prohibiting the free exercise thereof." Adoption of these complementary provisions followed centuries of "turmoil, civil strife, and persecution, generated in large part by established sects determined to maintain their absolute political and religious supremacy." Mindful of that history, the fledgling Republic ratified the Establishment Clause, in the words of Thomas Jefferson, to "build a wall of separation between church and state."....If the aim of the Establishment Clause is genuinely to uncouple government from church," the clause does "not permit....a display of the character" of Bladensburg's Peace Cross.....The Establishment Clause essentially instructs : "The government may not favor one religion over another, or religion over irreligion."
(Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Cross Is Not Secular)

The display of the cross is synonymous with the display of the signifier, "god" in this case being displayed as a secular signifier, which (like the Bladensburg cross) it is not. Apparently, the majority of a community can decide to violate the Constitution and the courts cannot correct that majority, which violates the Bill of Rights as well.
