The 2016 election was at a time when the country was sick and tired of lying, corrupt, career/self-party-serving Elitist politicians who believed and lived as if the laws they passed did not apply to them....and the Democratic Party responded to the American people by protecting the 1 politician who embodied ALL of that to run for President. On top of that, they protected their candidate from indictment / prison as they helped protect her from the obvious crimes she was proven to have committed. They helped her rig primaries, cheat in debates, and in the end they gave her the nomination she could not win on her own.
