Who should go without?

People on social programs. Every time this subject comes up in the media, their first concern is what about the poor people? Well, what about the working people is my question?

Working people are the ones who are paying for the non-working, and some of us working people don't have coverage ourselves. In the meantime, the poor are popping out kids like a popcorn machine and the rest of us have to support them including their medical.

So poor children and the elderly who are poor should go without?

Do you have a good argument as to why those groups should be punished for doing no wrong?

Do you have a good argument why those who support themselves should be punished for doing no wrong?

Should I be punished for having to pay the portion of my taxes that go to a defense budget that I do not support in its size and scope?

No, because paying for the defense of this country is part of a constitutional mandate of our federal government; we all benefit from a safe nation.

Forget about universal health care - simply create a Government run Pharmaceutical company using fair prices for all their products which will force Big Pharma like Merck to stop being so greedy and have competitive prices from then on for their products . Theres the solution the Obama Admin couldn't see- well nobody could. Big Pharma is too much of a monopoly .They need stiff competition. Then those Sobs wouldn't get insanely rich while forcing US citizens to pay for their badly needed medication.

I'm not saying it would be easy (and the GOP gets $$ from Big Pharma ) but think about it- If you were someone in the GOP sold this idea to the public- could you name 1 GOP senator and congressman who would oppose this idea? they would never get elected again if they opposed this idea. 95% of the country would be for it- upper middle and lower classes would love this idea.

This is the best( and ONLY ) solution to health care. Universal Health care could never work in the US. You cant have half the hard working country taking care of the lazy other half. Non sustainable business model.Too many people and illegals here.

Big pharma is too much of a monopoly so your solution is the biggest monopoly possible. The government. You can't be serious.

So what is the system we have now? The poor children get healthcare and the working people that provide that care don't? As far as Medicare goes, working people pay into that program their entire working lives.

40% of Medicare is paid out of the general fund, not out of the payroll tax.

Which is why I have always said we need to raise employee contributions to Medicare. None of it should come from the general fund.

As an adult human being, I need things such as food, clothing, shelter, and sometimes health care. I am responsible to earn a living (work) to provide those needs for myself and my dependants. I do not have a right to have those things simply given to me by the government.

Parents have the responsibility to provide for their children.
