In the final days of the Roman Empire they elected a horse to the Senate. At least they elected the entire horse. The state of political dialogue is senseless these days. Screechy offensive speech is celebrated whether it has a substantive point or not. Both sides engage in it. They are encouraged by The populace who say it gives voice to their frustrations. We don't just tolerate it, we blur it with reality TV and crave it. But like heroin we need more and more and will ultimately overdose.

Rome in the final days was filled with career politicians whos only goal was self serving.

Just like what we have today.

That was just an amusing anecdote as a preface to my main point. You like this level of dialogue? Insults raised to the level of principle (by both sides)?

You should read American History because it would amaze you how today toxic political environment is nothing new...

Read about Andrew Jackson and the hatred he saw from the opposition parties or Abraham Lincoln or Theodore Roosevelt.

Hell through the history of this fine nation there have moments when many thought the Union was over even including the North and South war, and yet this fine nation marches on...

So again the toxic political environment you see today is nothing new except the words we use...
