Both control the economy completely, Stalin did it via nationalization, where the State owned everything, the nazis allowed the companies to remain private, but the owners had to be members of the Nazi Party for the most part, and even there they were highly regulated, they were told what to produce, where to source the raw materials, what to charge for their products etc.

There was a nazi official in every major corporation to ensure they complied with nazi party edicts.

In the arms industry they also inspected the final product and stamped their actual postal box number on the weapons so that if there was a problem the soldiers in the field could send their concerns to the correct person.
