I may or may not watch the Super Bowl. (Yes this belongs in politics.)

This is a very specific and focused discussion on one single aspect of the Super Bowl or anything similar that might apply.

I may or may not watch the Super Bowl. One reason is how politicized national sports have become. But also. . .

I see where the intention is to play the so-called "Black National Anthem" at the game. How divisive is having a national anthem for black people and another for everybody else? How is that not racist? How is that not the same thing as separate schools or separate drinking fountains?

To me it is just wrong.

It's definitely wrong. Are you one nation or separate nations?

Exactly. When I think of all the blood and treasure that was the price of winning black Americans their unalienable right to just be Americans with all the possibilities that grants us all, it is galling to see the 'woke' generation separating us by race again.

I'm only watching to see the Eagles defense rip off Mahomes good leg and beat his bad leg with it!! :auiqs.jpg:
Well I'll watch for that, but if I watch, I'll be rooting for the Chiefs. :)

But I am so distressed that they insist on making one of America's great sports traditions into some kind of political or 'woke' statement, I may not watch in protest.

After kick-off I think I'll keep score of the number of commercials with negros in them.....And not buy any of their shit. ;)

Belay that, it will be easier to keep track of commercials without negros in them.
I don't want the color of anybody's skin to be any kind of factor in an American sporting event.

There is no such thing as a Black National Anthem. Tis just a song

I was an Eagle's fan before inception, so I have no choice.
But I hear ya'.

Are you that racist that just the sight of a black person triggers you so?

I definitely don't think you should watch it. Big sports have always been stupid and now that theyve become more politicized they're stupider still. Since the 1970s they have just become exponentially more corrupted by money commercialism and politics. If you look at a list of all the people who have been in the secret skull and Bones society of Yale University you will find a number of football team owners mixed in with all the lawyers, politicians, and military personnel. The real purpose of skull & bones is to recruit influential people to conspire to control the economy. And guess what, Rooney, the tycoon who initially invested in starting the Steelers as a franchise in 1933 was a 33rd degree Freemason himself.

Sports have always been politicized, really. I believe that the Steelers were created as an antidote to the Great depression in Pittsburgh, a conspiracy between Rooney and local politicians. There was a side to it that wasn't just for fun it was to boost the economy and get low class Blue collar people to kick-start the market so these big shots could make money again.
