Despite the fact that conservatives have been engaging in a constant drumbeat of anti-Obama rhetoric on TV and on talk radio, they seem unable to further drive down Obama's numbers even though the economy is anemic. However, the approval ratings for the Republican congress are sinking while the GOP presidential nomination process is in disarray with GOP candidates mired in numerous attacks on one another.

I'm sorry -are you under the impression Congress' low approval ratings are a POSITIVE sign for Democrats somehow? There is a strong anti-government and anti-career politician sentiment in this country at the moment -one of the strongest seen in many decades. Since Democrats control the bulk of power in government right now, exactly how do you figure that bodes well for Democrats somehow? LOL In addition NATIONAL polls about their approval of Congress is meaningless -especially when it shows 53% of those polled thought their OWN representative should be re-elected. Oops. Another one of those "my guy is ok, but YOURS should be kicked to the curb" things going on here. The only people members of Congress have to please are their own constituents in order to get re-elected and the people YOU want to pretend are in trouble are actually doing pretty well. If you take a look member by member, it's a real eye opener about who is in most trouble.

You have to be a serious Kool-Aid drinker to believe just a year later voters want to go back to super majority Democrat total control of both of these branches of government when their out of control spending spree and ramming unwanted laws down all our throats against our will was the source of anti-government and anti-incumbent sentiment in this country in the first place.

And you have to be downright stupid to believe a poll about Obama's approval ratings at this given moment means something good either. Especially when other polls taken by multiple pollsters including CBS but people were asked if Obama deserved a second term and 54% said "no". Leave it to leftwing extremist ideologues to claim this represents a "surge" for Obama and means it is the as-yet-undetermined-Republican candidate in trouble somehow! ROFL

Just remember at this point when Republicans were trying to come up with a nominee to run against Carter -in head-to-head polls taken at this same point out from the election, Carter won against every Republican candidate. Even after Reagan got the nomination, Carter "won" in head-to-head polls until late summer. And then Reagan kicked his ass all over the country in one of the biggest blowout elections in history. Which should tell you trying to pretend this poll TODAY means jackshit anything of relevance for something nearly a year out is pretty stupid, huh.
