You got the difference between the amount of the rebate minus the percentage of tax you pay on it the next year as a tax cut.
The tables stayed the same, therefore you STILL owe the same in taxes. There is NO cut.

Yeah sure, that 787 billion dollar stimulus bill that was passed last Febuary and PROMISED to keep unemployment under 8% isn't working out.. Of course, it's OBAMA'S stimulus plan, I think all of two or three republicans signed onto it and then the dems in the congress and senate all voted for it before they even read it. In that stimulus plan or so-called ( jobs bill) was written in millions in bonuses for the failed AIG exects, thanks extended to Chris Dodd for that little earmark. This so-called stimulus plan was nothing more than a liberal wish list that was stuck in a drawer, brought out, dusted off and passed. The waste and fraud in this bill is starting to come to light, with even CNN on to it and reporting it. This bill was never intended to increase hiring, more money in this bill went to the Arts and Humanities than it did to small business which employs 76% of Americans. The stimulus bill is turning out to be the biggest fraud of this century.
