How long before the Dems in Wisconsin face recall petitions?

Governor Walker signaled he was looking for a "confrontation" when he arbitrarily refused to recognize the teachers' union(s) - now the Republicans are getting all self-righteous that the Democrats aren't playing by the rules!

Walker may not like the reachers' union, but their legitimacy to represent and bargain for Wisconsin's public school teachers is a well established fact!

The Governor has no legal basis on which to recognize the legitimacy of the police and the firefighters unions to represent their members - but to exclude the teachers

When you come out playing Republican "hardball," why wouldn't you expect Democratic "hardball" in return?

Considering what they are doing, is legal in WIS I don't see a recall drive over it. It may be unethical and petty for them to block Democracy by hiding in another state but apparently it is legal.

Legal or not, if enough people sign petitions and the officeholder has served at least one year since being elected (or re-elected), there can be a recall.

indeed.

The Democrats are not playing hardball. They are not playing at all. The are standing in the way of a vote they know they will lose, They know there is a time limit to how long they can do it, they know in the end the bill will pass. They are just grandstanding, and hijacking Democracy for as long as they can.

So much for Dems respecting the will of the people, who gave Republicans control.

What they're doing, in effect, is a filibuster. Something you cons were loving when it was going on in the US Senate. As far as "the will of the people" goes, that's debatable at this point, as far as Wisconsin concerned.

But we'll see how those recalls go, eh?

It amazes me the lengths some wingnut leftists will go to defend chickenshits running away from their responsibilities....

These senators were elected to serve ALL their constituents, not just those in a union....

No, they filibustered in the Assembly after the Dem Senators took off and we all know how the GOPers got around that.

In the end, both sides are using the the tools they have at their disposal to get things done or stop things getting done, much like has been going on in Congress the last couple of years.

The Dems are running out of time. They left on the 17th, which is 19 days ago. That means they have 11 days left to return to Wisconsin or face expulsion from the Senate.

They will walk into the Statehouse next Friday, take their beating, and quickly move on to the next topic that will serve themselves best.

So if the Republicans had run away from the 0bamacare bill you would have applauded?

What a fucking joke you fleebaggers are... With every post praising the chickenshit Flee Party you show your yellow streak.... It's hysterical, actually....

Of course not, I'd say pretty much what you're saying now about the Dems, while you'd be praising them for delaying "Obamacare". So, as usual, you can take your own partisan hack hypocrisy and shove it up your right wingnut ass.
