The housing market has little to do with the White House or Congress. Several programs have passed that have only had a marginal effect on mortgages.

The housing market is starting to improve because the market has slowly been absorbing the excess inventories built up during the last decade.

U6 Unemployment has been around 15% for most of Obama's term. The jobs being created are part time ones (and exempt from the health insurance requirement).

While the deficit spending was not as shovel ready as ANYONE hoped no doubt it saved or created jobs. The negative effect will be felt when we are paying interest on it.

The slow down in housing construction is NO DOUBT helping. As is importing ANYONE with a job skill or willingness to work.

If only municipalities quit rezoning every piece of farmland they can find into suburbia now THAT would be a government program/or a good lack of government action.
