Hillary Clinton..."The People's Champion"!

Dude, my grandfather was a Fire Chief, my dad was a Fire Chief, two of my brothers are Paramedics on the Fire Department. Another brother and sister are teachers. It doesn't "burn me" that they have better benefits. It does however burn me that State and Local governments are now burdened with the cost for those better benefits because we can't even come CLOSE to affording them! It burns me that the politicians that OK'd those benefits were elected with big money from those public sector unions and didn't CARE if we could afford them or not. Why should they care...it's not like the money was coming out of THEIR pockets.

No, guy. THere's plenty of money to pay for these benefits. The problem is the rich have most of it and the politicians don't have the balls to make them pay their fair share.

It used to be because the Right plastered some bullshit about "Laffer Curves" and "Supply Side" like that would work. Now you all just work on a method of "Mine, mine, mine" and telling Cleetus and Billy-Bob the only reason he lives in a trailer park is because a Government that ain't right with Jesus taxes them too much.

But, no, let's blame the teacher making 52K, not the Billionaire sucking up tons of corporate welfare.

As for what say a police officer makes? You're only counting their base salary and ignoring the value of their benefits.

Because most of them aren't that relevent. I mean, yeah, health insurance costs a lot. If you use it.

If you stay healthy that's just a lot of money you aren't using.

If we had universal health care like every other industrialized country, we'd be spending less per person. BUT OH MY GOD SOCIALISM!!!!! EEEEEEEKKKKK!!!!!

Yes government involvement always reduces cost. We all know ACA reduced health care premiums by 2500/mo, right?

We know they aren't going up as much as they were...

But the ACA is really a private sector solution, not a government one. One you guys were fine with when it was called "RomneyCare".

We'd be better off just extending Medicare to everyone and being done with it.

Their "fair share"? The wealthy already pay the vast majority of taxes collected in the US, Joey! The inconvenient fact for idiots like yourself that buy into the bullshit that progressives are selling is that if you taxed the wealthy at 100% it STILL wouldn't come close to paying for the entitlements that we've obligated ourselves to! So who's going to end up paying for all this crap you want? The people that always do...the Middle Class! Which is why I laugh out loud every time Barry or Hillary declares that they're here fighting for the Middle Class!

So benefits aren't relevant? Really, Joey? Are they not relevant because they blow your premise that police, firefighters and teachers are all underpaid right out of the water? My brother who is a teacher is about to retire. His pension is upwards of seventy thousand dollars a year. But you don't consider that benefit "relevant"? Just how fucking stupid ARE you, Joey?

If we taxed the wealthy at 100%, we'd be able to pay our bills. Even going back to the pre-Bush tax rates on the rich cut the deficit in half.

But we need to do more. We need to scrap all the awful trade treaties and bring back manufacturing. We need to get more people gainfully employed. But it won't be growing Dressage Horsies or building car elevators.

Wow, so you are upset your brother actually made good money doing something more useful for soceity than running a strip club, or whatever it is you claim you do?

So let's look at that. Public Employees don't pay into social security, their pensions are supposed to be the substitute for that. Now, if the government had set that money aside like they were supposed to, we wouldn't have a problem. We also wouldn't have a problem if your buddies on Wall Street hadn't looted all the pension funds in '08.

But, no, let's blame a few guys who got good pensions, not the greed of hte 1%.

All I've done is point out that your contention that police, firefighters and teachers only make a "living wage" is a crock of shit.

I know Boston Police officers that take home over a hundred thousand a year. They're making that kind of money WITH killer benefits!

I'm sorry, Joe but even if you COULD tax the wealthy at 100% and they were stupid enough to keep working (which they wouldn't!) it wouldn't even come close to paying for the entitlements we now owe in the future.

And none of that is due to ACA. Find me someone whose insurance premiums are lower. Not the subsidized rates but the actual premium. Doesnt exist.
And no, most of us opposed Romneycare but felt MA was entitled to their folly.

You liberal drones blather on about how if we could just get the rich to pay more then everything would be "peachy" and someone with eighth grade math skills can crunch the numbers and figure out that you can't make them work. Your answer to every problem is to spend more money that we don't have and kick the cost of paying for those new entitlements down the road for someone else to deal with.

And what rank are they? How many years on the force?

Again, you keep throwing out these kind of silly comparisons and they just don't fly.

Everyone should make a living wage.

Actually, we did just fine when the rich paid their fair share. Last time we had a balanced budget. When Clinton made the rich pay their fair share.

Last time before that? When LBJ made them pay their fair share. and we did really cool stuff at the time like the space program and the Great Society and even fought a war in Vietnam. and we still managed to pay our bills becuase the rich paid their fair share and working people made a living wage.

The problem with you guys is you worry too much about the rich when you should be worried about the middle class.

sure it would. But we don't even have to go that far. Make the rich pay what they paid before Ronnie Ray-Gun fucked everything up, stop playing the world's policeman, stop sending billions to the Zionists or fighting their wars, and scrap these moronic free trade treaties, and there would be plenty of jobs to go around.

Also, go to single payer and get health care costs under control. That would also help.

Frankly, if we kept on the path the First PResident Clinton left for us, we'd be fine now.

One of the bigger comedy routines we're going to be treated to is Hillary Clinton campaigning as the champion of the poor when she and her hubby have become millionaires by accepting payola from wealthy donors in return for political favors. The same people who brought us the "Marc Rich" pardon in the waning hours of the Clinton administration now want you to believe that they're going to fight for you against the rich.
Hillary Clinton now leads a "thugs life".

Hillary is a lying cheating scummy human being. She is a champion of her own self interests.

Dude, Bill Clinton's economic success was based on two things...the Dot Com Boom which brought in large sums of revenue to the Government coffers...and a Republican led House that wouldn't let him spend that money.
