Hey, 99 Percenters, You Call This 'Fair'?

Scouring the lefty sites for talking points. Most involve whining about fairness. Of course, "fair" means "me getting something for free".

Really? Then why is it that the red states are the ones that are taking more federal dollars than the blue states? The Liberal states give, and the 'Conservative' states take.

So why don't you lazy ass wingnuts get off your dead asses, clean the beer cans from the door of your single wide, and go out and get a job. This Lib is getting tired of supporting you whining bigoted bastards and bitchs.
*yawn* Yes, these people look awfully productive, don't they?

yeah... right back at ya.

Thank you for posting this. It does a great job highlighting the massive income disparity in this country.

The top 1% pays 43%

The next 9% pays 28% ----- and this line starts at 105k

And the rest of the 90% pay 29%

Youch.

That's a lot of underpaid mother fuckers.
Underpaid? How can you asset that?

Because if they were properly paid, they'd be paying more in taxes.... don't you get it? I'll put in the simplest of terms... THE POOR DON'T HAVE ANY MONEY. The fact that 90% of them only pay 9% of the taxes means... THERE ARE A LOT OF THEM.
You haven't got a clue what you're talking about.

What would happen to the cost of living in NYC if everyone making below, say, $50K is given a raise to what you feel would be appropriate?

Hey, 99 Percenters, You Call This 'Fair'?
A study by the New York City Independent Budget Office was released this week, and you didn't hear much about it in the mainstream media because it hurts their candidate's message.

Keep in mind, I'm your Conservative Everyman. I'm no economist, nor am I a political scientist. I call 'em as I see 'em just like you do. And away we go...

New York City has a little more than 8 million residents. Of those many millions, 1% -- ONE PERCENT -- pays 43% of the income taxes. You know how many people that works out to? About 35,000 people.

Picture in your mind's eye the City of New York, not just Manhattan, but all five boroughs. Imagine the throngs here right now enjoying the holidays. Think about the police presence, the sanitation, the schools brimming with children...East Side, West Side, The Village -- a hell of a town! 8 million people!

Now imagine Yankee Stadium, or any average Major League ballpark, and fill it except for the nosebleed seats. That tiny number pays almost HALF the operating costs for the city. How's THAT for fair?

Another kick in the head is that ten percent of New Yorkers pay 71% of the taxes. Guess how much income it takes to crack that ten percent? You don't have to be one of the millionaires or billionaires whom the Divider in Chief loves to vilify. You need not be an evil fat cat making $200,000 -- perish the thought! What's it take to crack the top ten percent in the most expensive city in America? $105,000. Yep, a buck five.

Just out of curiosity, what made you decide on NY, when you live in KY? It was just an article that you came across? :eusa_angel:
Well, yeah. You can tell because of the link.

Saw it on Facebook.

Not at all. just throwing back what I feel about your post. What? You don't like Constructive Criticism?

How about this? Most of our poor work very hard. You assume that success=Work ethic. I know a approximately 10 businessmen personally. All of whom have achieved a decent level of success. about half of them really bust their asses. One has a vinyl Fence Company, one has a landscaping company, one is a mechanic with his own garage, one is a hairdresser with her own salon and one has a small excavating company. The rest are good salesmen... they have the gift of bullshit and a ruthless nature.

You know what? The original five are more liberal leaning, the other ones are die hard Conservatives. Funny how the hard working ones Know how tough it is to make it and the ones that basically sit on their asses for a living do all the complaining about people "beneath them".
Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal...and more than likely bullshit.

Whatever you think....I'm not saying that this is the typical ratio or anything.. just saying what I observe... I am actually fairly good friends with all of them and the Conservatives and I have decided not to talk politics anymore.
I don't doubt it.

"Rich" and "Poor" are subjective terms. Do you think that someone who makes more money than 90% of working New Yorkers shouldn't be considered "rich"?

There you go, Steelplate. It's official. $105K is rich.

I think you're missing the point.

It's not that $105K is particularly "rich", especially in a city with the most billionaires - but the fact that 90% of New Yorkers make less than that... so, to the vast majority of New Yorkers, $105K is "rich".
So you think the people making $105K aren't paying enough in taxes?

It's scary that someone would make such a derogatory sign, but what's even more frightening, is that the wonderful "n word" is misspelled. I would be nervous around that individual with a loaded gun, or any weapon for that matter. It's just that lack of attention to detail.

You know what the difference is?

The people in your pictures went to work the next day, and left the places they gathered in neat and orderly.

I think it's funny that you guys are so butthurt about making those people that survive on $20,000 a year or less "pay their fair share".

Do you think it's horrible to pay $20 a check to pay to be part of America? I don't.

Why should someone have to pay a fee to be "part of" America, aside from some childish desire for "fairness"?

Life isn't fair. And if you don't want to pay taxes, quit your job, and get a job at McDonald's, and you can join those "lucky" people.

I don't mind paying taxes. I live in the greatest country the world has to offer. And they have expenses. Why shouldn't everyone contribute SOMETHING to those expenses? They don't have to contribute a big percentage but they sure as hell should contribute something.

Oh... that's right... we're not allowed to talk about how much profit is acceptable..... only what workers make is appropriate conversation. It doesn't matter if Joe Schmoe and his wife can't even afford to bring a child into this world... It doesn't matter if they both have to work two jobs to raise a child either... but I know a person like you would be the first one on the phone to the cops when their unsupervised kid vandalized your house, and you'd be the first one on here complaining about scumbag parents and how they let their kids terrorize the streets.

But that's Ok... I know you're just a Conservative and can't think that far ahead.

The left feels that voting Democrat is sufficient contribution.

I used to think that was "rich". It isn't.

Fiance and I gross more than that; and while we aren't hurting, we certainly aren't rich. Plenty of taxes!

So I consider $105k definitely in the 99%. 200k is in the 99%, IMO.

I just wrote about this on another thread. I don' care what your income is, you should pay taxes. Even welfare recipients!! Yes! Welfare! YOu fet an income you pay to live here! Everyone pays. The fact that half this country is carrying the other half is totally obsurd.

I don't care if you have to pay $100 or $200, you gotta pay. Everyone uses the education, the roads and reaps the satisfaction they are living in a secure free world. Time for the free rides should be over.

Yea, drive the poor into the ground more! They must love it when people do that.

Make them hurt a bit and they may be motivated to change their circumstances. Teach a man to fish and all that, you know.
