Have you ever seen a worse group of GOP candidates? I haven't.

No question the GOP is running it's B Team. A bunch of not ready for prime time candidates who are looking for their 15 minutes of fame

In other years, Romney would be a third or fourth choice candidate. This year, he is the only one who is remotely electable.....and that is if the economy completely tanks

Obama could certainly be beaten in 2012.......but not by this band of misfits
Obama wants another term to see that it happens...so he can complete his implimentation of Socialist ideals he champions.

Here's my superficial take on the GOP candidates:

Rick Perry: Reminds me of Howdy Doody. I think he's goofy - but most likeable.

Ron Paul: Too old, cranky and goofy - but I think he's by far the most genuine of the bunch. He is what he is.

Mitt Romney: Reminds me of Daffy Duck on meth. I believe nothing he says.

Newt Gingrich: Psycho! Most dangerous! In love with himself. Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD). I believe nothing he says.

Jon Huntsman: Bland and irrelevant.

Rick Santorum: Religious extremist. Batshit crazy. American Taliban.

Michele Bachmann: Religious extremist. Batshit crazy - and STUPID. American Taliban. Also appears to be a chronic liar.

No decent candidate would run this time arround because they know Obama is going to win it.

The tea party faction of the right has made this a sure thing.

This party will die unless it can shake off these people and get a base that isnt insane.

But...to be a one term president leaving a mess no different than it was when he took it on will kill his legacy.

You know how it is....if you drop three passes in a game....you want that fourth one thrown to you so you can save face

Yeah, too bad we don't have any stalwarts to make a run like the dimocrats have had in recent years. You know like Dennis Kucinich, Al Sharpton, Carol Mosley Braun, John Edwards, Jesse Jackson, Howard Dean, etc.

You sound like you're not so sure of yourself.

You sound like you have to say this to yourself because your guy is so worthless.

The more you focus on our candidates the more it affords you to not recognize how screwed up Obama is.

Sure, these guys all have warts, but just about any one of them would be a major improvement over the lazy stiff that's screwing the pooch today.

Ron Paul should never be President. He would be a disaster. Michelle Bachmann has problems with judgement.

Nobody knows exactly where Mitt stands on the issues.

Perry is a nice guy but he needs seasoning.

Santorum is too angry and to divisive for my tastes.

Huntsman is an Obama plant.

Newt has some crazy ideas......ideas that buck the system.

Every one of them is an improvement over the oxygen-thief in there.....even Ron Paul.

No they are not....that is why they match up poorly against Obama head to head

With the exception of Romney and maybe Newt if you clean him up enough, all the GOP candidates scare the hell out of people. They are just not credible candidates

You can spout all the "My dog could beat Obama" nonsense you want. Guess what? Your dog could not beat Obama and neither can most of these embarrassing candidates

You need a serious challenger to beat Obama regardless of what Rush and Hannity may be telling you. Obama is sitting on a zillion bucks, handles himself very well in public and will have an answer for whatever "Obama is a failure" issue you throw at him

barring a major economic collapse, the Republicans will not do well head to head against Obama........and they have only themselves to blame

Any one as knowledgable as you are about politics is well aware that they all match up behind Obama becuase right now Obama is campaigning to the entire electorate where, on the most part, the GOP candidates are campaigning to GOP voters of particular caucus states.

Obama gets free air time anytime he wants...the GOP candidates must target their dollars.

It really isnt rocket science.

Oh palease..... Obama has given us $15,000,000,000,000 debt, union bailouts, crony capitalism at a whole new level, Fast and Furious, Solyndra, SunPower, massive deficits, inflation, Obamacare, feckless foreign policy, etc. He can't even run on his record; his only shot is to run on platform of personal destruction of the opposition.

He's done... America, save the mind-numbed robots, has had their fill of Barry Obama.

Don't forget Class Warfare...that will be the centrepiece of his bid...pitting One group of Americans against others. His strength as a Community Organizer is all he has. He fails at everything else.

Lakhota,

Your a communist socialist antisemitic and all around douche bag, so your never going to like a GOP candidate!

the topic of the debates will be his leadership.

He can blame congress....that is blaming his lack of leadership for not being able to lead congress.
He can blame the tea party....that isblaming his leadership for not being able to lead congress beyond the leverage of the tea party.
He can blame corporate America...that is blaming his leadership for not being able to get corporate America to work with him.

The debates will prove to be his downfall assuming the candidate of choice knows what to attack.

And this is why the Candidates need to stay on message rather than attacking each other...:eusa_whistle:

The party is being held hostage by too many extreme views, and has developed the notion that compromise in any form is weakness. People know the world isn't that which is why the party is going through a period of identity crisis. The radical groups are lashing out and being louder than ever. But if you look at the last several elections. The quite moderate republican candidates are doing the best. McCain was quite moderate, this election Romney, Paul, and Newt who have some core moderate views or have demonstrated working across party lines. So I think its the perception of bad candidates because they all have to curtail to the extreme views in an attempt to unite a clearly divided party. Examples, Romney "changing his mind" on everything, Newt jumping religions repeatedly to find the one that "polls" the best. I think the ones performing the best are trying to do this juggling act because of the changing party identity. This generation doesn't care what Reagan did, what are you going to do to get me a job and stop sending them over seas. End of story. Not abortion, trickle-down, or imperialistic views. When I say that I mean in the general election where you have to convince independents who actually operate their brains when voting. The assumption I tend to make is that somewhere between 35-40% of the vote is locked on both sides before any discussion is made. For proof see any post here claiming ANY candidate is better than Obama. If you think Santorum, Bachman, Perry, or Cain are fit to run this nation based on shear logic and credentials, then you fall into that percent. Grats!

Who stands above all the candidates in debate after debate in his knowledge and solutions? New Gingrich is hardly Group B. The fact that he has been divorced more than once makes him more like the population he will be representing. He has made mistakes in his personal lfe and actually, who hasn't? i'm looking for a knowledgable and bold leader. I think I have found him.

If we keep looking for candidates who's personal life and career are pristine, we will be sorely disappointed or not vetting approriately like in the last election.

The only reason Obama has a good image is because he's had his past erased or had his record sealed by judges to prevent prying eyes.

What we do know his media simply refuses to report on.

Incumbents have advantages. It comes with being an incumbent. You make a good point. Obama is appealing to the entire electorate while the GOP candidates are sucking dick in Iowa and New Hampshire. The GOP candidates will have to transition from an extreme conservative that wins in Iowa to a position that appeals to the middle.

It won't be easy

Do not get me wrong. I am not criticizing Obama for capitalizing on the "free campaigning"...it comes with the territory.....no issue here with it whatsoever.

But that is why I never take into consideration the "gop candidate vs Obama" polls.

I agree...it is not easy to beat an incumbant....but it is most definitely do-able.

And the truth is, whereas many see Obama as being successful...many see him as not....and a smart GOP candidate will not debate what is or is not a fialure...they will debate WHY things failed.

If a GOP candidate played on the economy...and how Obama failed....he will easily respond with "I did what I could with a congress that was divided and party driven"

However, if the GOP candidate played on WHY he congress gotr nothing done....referring to the lack of leadership...the debate will be about his failure to lead.

It will be entertaining in the least....

All one has to do is go to a library and check out his books. Will give you insight into his ideology...and why he as a young lad sought out Marxists/Communists...and why he seeks to take us down.
