I agree with you that too many people are killing each other at an abysmal rate. The problem is people have grown cold to fellow human life. Guns are just a means. Nowhere in that quote was "developed" mentioned. That must have been an earlier post by you not included in the quote.

The answer is: it's the same reason you cherry-picked developed countries only. If we're talking about the same list, developed countries are generally those inhabited mostly by whites, with a few exceptions, like Japan, which was basically defeated and heavily influenced by whites from that point forward. There certainly aren't too many black or latino countries on the list. And this leads to my answer: the violence in the USA is disproportionately carried out by blacks and latinos, those same people who are incapable of turning their countrie s into developed nations. That's why we have more violence here: because too many inhabitants of the USA are blacks/latinos. You'll see this trend in developed Europe, too, with Switzerland having far more gun ownership and less homicide per capita. UK also has more blacks per capita than SUI, though not nearly as many as the USA.

When you have a migrant minority this does tend to disproportionately make them turn up in crime statistics. It has to do with a less good economic situation coupled with racism and a smidge of cultural differences.

I’ve been to a few gun manufacturing facilities over the years.
They hate firearms over there but they love the money they get from taxing the manufacturing of them over there… obviously that makes them hypocrites.

I like it fine here. And before you say it, yes I have a job, I actually work on average a 12 hour shift and about 20 weekends a year on top of that. As to hypocrisy. Sure we tax a lot. On the other hand if tomorrow something happens to me and I can't work. My kid can go to college still and I won't have to worry about feeding my family. Oh the horror.
