Corbett, the state attorney general, said at a campaign stop in Elizabethtown on Friday that "people don't want to come back to work while they still have unemployment....The jobs are there, but if we keep extending unemployment, the people are going to sit there."

Corbett has cited a Camp Hill candy company that resorted to hiring European students for the summer because it couldn't find workers to fill open positions as one example of the businesses that are hurting for employees. Campaign spokesman Kevin Harley said he did not know the name of the candy company.

Corbett Tells Unemployed to Get Back to Work, Jumps to Lead in Polls | PhillyNow | A blog about Philadelphia news, politics and culture by Philadelphia Weekly

“Get off your duff and get to work,” Tom Corbett said to out-of-work Pennsylvanians last week.

“The jobs are there,” the state Attorney General and Republican gubernatorial candidate told a Harrisburg Radio station on Friday. “But if we keep extending unemployment, people are just going to sit there.”

Are Republicans going to run on the message that "unemployment" is caused by "unemployment benefits"? There seems to be some resonance out there.
Who believe it? Many of the employed. What about the unemployed? Do they believe it?
