I'm not concerned about ambient b/g rad from a plant. I'm concerned about a meltdown. Newer doesn't always = better plus, you got to factor in that humans make mistakes. That is one of the characteristics that make us human.

An argument that just is not going to win over people who rely on cheap power.to live their daily lives. While it is prudent to explore other options it serves no good to demonize coal and gas. The other options have their environmental costs as well. There is no such thing as clean energy in any form.
The planet will survive and so will humanity regardless of any change in the atmosphere. In 6 Billion years when the Sun burns up the last of its Hydrogen then we will see the real warming begin as it turns into a red giant and consumes the Earth.

If worried about your carbon footprint...log off, throw out the comforts of life you take for granted, and go live in a cave. When you do, don't start a fire as you are again burning carbons.
