And I know a lot of MBAs who struggled (and frankly many of them still do) with elementary economics and basic college level algebra, and those are actually directly related to their academic degree and their career. Gore was a journalism/literary major, who switched over to polisci the second half of his Junior year because his GPA was falling and he spent too much of the Fall semester drinking and getting high and upper level journalism and literature classes require a significant investment in time and effort. And everyone (except polisci majors, it seems) knows that there is no easier college level degree than a polisci major (there was a draft going on at the time, couldn't afford to drop off his deferrment).

Wiki's not a reliable source, but it and many other sources roughly confirm this, and I see no real reason to doubt it, but Al Gore never claimed to be anything other than a former Senator, Vice President and personal advocate for a variety of private and societal causes. I don't understand what why any of this is relevent to environmental or climate issues other than incidentally at best.

And if you read his books and what he says in his documentary, you will note that he quotes scientists on almost every point he makes.
