God isn't pro-life

It's always amusing to watch those who insist there is no God lecture those who believe there is on how to read and interpret Scripture. Always.

Kind of like how people who have never taken a single biology class are somehow qualified to tell scientists the world over they are wrong about evolution?
Of course. But then you also have biology majors and biologists saying the same things, so...

But they aren't producing the work to back up their claims.
The point remains that it's not just the relatively uneducated who find the idea of all life spontaneously igniting from nothing preposterous.

Then the point remains that it doesn't take the faithful to actually read and understand just what a religious text says in context.
Then why do so many of those shrieking the loudest have no understanding of that which they are impugning?

Who says they don't? It isn't like the Bible is some secret document where only certain people can read a passage. I can read and understand that some kids made fun of Elisha's chrome dome and then he used his prophet powers to maul kids. He not only tacitly had God's approval, but actively had God's help in the matter. It doesn't mean I don't get the point of the story is "don't fuck with prophets" but can also get "sometimes God's chosen ones are dicks and sometimes so is God".

Oh god, he's implying he denies evolution.. You do realize that only a tiny minority of biologists reject evolution, and their is absolutely no evidence that goes against actual evidence.

Which means what in this context?

Very good, you understand that the Scriptures are in plain sight and accessible by all. Now, do you also understand what was really going on here? First, these were NOT children. The word is more specifically translated "young men" of around 20 years of age. Next, the fact that 42 OF them were mauled means that there were MORE than 42 in the bunch. In other words, when you understand the full picture, you realize that this was no handful of children coming out to make fun of a bald man (you also realize that Elisha was not likely bald. To call a man bald was a big insult). This was a large group of young adult men, coming out to oppose God's prophet, and through him, God Himself. In today's vernacular, Elisha would be walking past a neighborhood and would have a mob of adult thugs come out of an alley behind him, shouting and mocking him and God. So you see, when you understand what's really going on, the picture is a lot clearer. And you at least get the point, don't mess with God's prophets.
