I don't think I agree with the analogy of a political party to a radio station.
The radio station is created by one individual, with money, to make money.
So it is all about money and the one with the most ownership of the money, owns the station.

A political party is not about money but ideas and votes, and the person who is the most popular for president is the one with the most supported ideas and votes, so then is the automatic leader of the party.

Here's a klown who actually thinks that "Democrat" is some kind of species, complete with its own personality traits. This is the waste product of "Eliminationism" sold by cancerous boils like Lush Rimjob, the idea that one's rhetorical adversary is really some kind of bacteria that must be exterminated. This is basically why I take a dim view of dichotomous labels --- it leads to this cesspool.

I don't think I agree with the analogy of a political party to a radio station.
The radio station is created by one individual, with money, to make money.
So it is all about money and the one with the most ownership of the money, owns the station.

A political party is not about money but ideas and votes, and the person who is the most popular for president is the one with the most supported ideas and votes, so then is the automatic leader of the party.

It isn't though. The POTUS candidate is the figurehead for the top job ---- he or she doesn't run the party, at all. He or she USES the party to get where he's going.

A radio station, in the analogy, first of all is usually a collective, not an individual, and yes assuming it's a commercial station they're in it to make money. And they do so with the figurehead of the entity behind the mic (called the "talent"). The talent serves as the symbol of the station but he doesn't run it. He gets paid by those who do, who can also fire him. He doesn't make the decisions of what the station programs. A political party is out to make not money but power, another form of currency. They will decide who their symbol is to achieve that, and choose who it isn't as well ---- like the Republicans did with Teddy Roosevelt.

The powers that be can and do make those calls however they see fit at the time. One radio station (let's call it Republicans 1912) may say "we know this DJ makes us money but this is not the direction we want to take our image" and dump him. Another radio station (Republicans 2016) may say "screw the principles, this shock jock will make us money (power) and that's all we care about".

Same thing here. Democratic Party is choosing between programming options. There's a Sanders program and there;'s a Biden program, but they're both pitching for the same time slot. They don't call that shot of who gets it --- the party does.

Let's be clear about the basics though --- political parties are absolutely NOT about ideas. Votes, yes. Power, absolutely, literally absolutely. But ideas, they go by the wayside in short order soon after the party is founded, and the prime directive becomes self-perpetuation for its own sake, screw the ideas, screw the principles. Like a commercial radio station, ideas are of no use or interest. It's all about POWER. It's all how many votes or how many listeners you can draw, the ideas can go sit on a tack.
