"Free Tuition" who is stupid enough to believe anything is free???

a GPA requirement

we've already seen how the Left dumbs-down education to acheive their "diversity goals". Who in their right minds doesn't see what ends up happening to that GPA requirement??
What the hell is your excuse for lack of education?

1. Maintain a GPA average.

2. Take mandatory courses.

3. Begin college within six months of high school graduation.

4. Residency requirement.

mandatory courses the government says you need as a requirement for the help

anybody see where this goes?

libs are ......................

Instead of a K-12 education, kids would receive K-14.
Still not free...I will be paying for it through my taxes.
Those college graduates will earn much bigger incomes than they would with a high school diploma. You don't think that translates to a lifetime of higher taxes they will pay on those higher incomes?

Don't you think a better educated workforce translates to a more productive and innovative workforce, and therefore a higher national GDP?
I agree with all you said, but it is still not free.
It's an investment. The complaining about it not being "free" is like whining you have to put up money to buy stocks that bring a return on investment.
I am not whining, I am just saying that Bernie Sanders is full of shit when he says free tution. It is not free.

And who pays the taxes? Oh yeah, somebody else.

who is surprised LWNJs reject their role, the government's role in why tuition is so high?

Rising College Costs: A Federal Role? - The New York Times

Feb 3, 2010 - Pell Grants have not made higher education more affordable. ... financial assistance is more a cause than a consequence of rising college costs. ... So increasing federal need-based aid should be a top fiscal priority, and the ... Today the grants cover a smaller portion of college tuition than they did 25 years

I have spoken about the smiley curve of production a few times on this forum. The money is in the Design and Distribution ends of the curve.

If we are to retain our superpower status, we have to maintain our innovative edge. We cannot be a nation of high school graduate auto assembly line workers. Manufacturing is at the bottom of the smiley curve. That's why so much stuff is made in China nowadays.

Contrary to popular belief, though, we still make more stuff than anyone else. It's just that we invested so much capital in automation, it doesn't take as many human laborers to make as much stuff any more.

So we have to educate our kids for the jobs of tomorrow, not the jobs of their fathers. And that means inventing new stuff. Innovation. Design.

That has been our edge for centuries, and we are losing that edge because we are neglecting our educational system.

Investing in educating our labor pool will bring returns on investment that will far exceed the capital we invest. We will make innovators.

pretty freaking funny when sanctimonous clowns think they are schooling you and they turn out to be the ones behind the curve. it's common knowledge the government plays a role in the sky-high cost of college tuition. you are advocating more of the same

"forward"

pandering for votes of course

idiots and hypocrites

iTunes U is FREE!!! The US Government could put an entire university online for nothing.

Dude, government couldn't build a working web site after spending a billion freaking dollars. Just two states blew $600 million on their web sites and they were complete failures that were abandoned. You people need to come to grips with the fact that idiots work in government.

we are not neglecting our education system; especially not by not offering what amounts to programs that pander for votes.
