Fox news sat on Stormy Daniels story to protect Trump.

Fox News killed Stormy Daniels hush money report before election: New Yorker

We knew Fox news was in Donald Trump‘s pocket. But is this even legal? Was there money that exchanged hands? You can bet the house is going to investigate this story.

Every day we find out how dishonest fox news is. You know the second largest Fox owner is an Arab prince? From Saudi Arabia?

What "story"? That he was being blackmailed and shaken down by a porn star?

I don't like these kinds of personal stories, either for him or those of Hillary. If it's substantive that's one thing, but these tactics just encourage more character assassinations if they get ink.

Look, Trump isn't always polite and he's not a politicians politician, but he gets things done. Nobody was expecting a Saint, they just didn't want another weak, plastic fool in office. These types of stories don't help Americans at all, they just influence the weak to vote based on a manufactured person.

Trump gets things done? That's news to me. When did Mexico pay for the wall? And when was it built?

  • What has he done to Make America Great Again?
Go ahead, and list something great he's done.

  • He's alienated our allies,
  • He's enriched the rich
  • He's fucked over the middle class
  • He has a longer enemy list than Nixon
  • His summit with N. Korea was a failure
  • He's done nothing to end the opiate crisis
  • He's undone civil rights (to please the bigots who dominate his base
  • He's profited from the office, and thus violated COTUS in doing so
  • He lied about releasing his taxes, and,
  • He has lied nearly 10,000 times since he took the oath of office
  • He's obstructed justice
  • He's filled the swamp with corrupt officials
  • He's violated campaign finance laws
  • He's denigrated the FBI
  • He's attacked and slandered the Free Press
  • He's an all around failure, a man in an empty suit, a megalomaniac and an Arrogant Self Serving - Hole.

I don't particularly like Trump, but this list is wrong.

  • Our supposed European allies in NATO have nothing in common with us and actually are our main competitors.
  • I may agree he's enriched the rich, and I don't like the tax beaks.
  • Whether he's fucked over the middle class has not at all been established.
  • His enemy list is irrelevant
  • His summit with N. Korea was the single most important event in decades, and was a partial success.
  • The opiate crisis is the fault of Congress and should be handled by the states.
  • How has he undone civil rights? I don't see any evidence of that.
  • He's profited from the office, and but that does NOT violate COTUS in any way as long as he does not take bribes.
  • He did not lie about releasing his taxes.
  • He lied no more than other presidents who made deliberately false claims in order to start wars, like WMD in Iraq.
  • There is absolutely no proof he obstructed justice
  • He did not change the swamp at all.
  • He did not violated campaign finance laws, and the blackmail payments to Stormy were perfectly legal.
  • He's right to denigrated the FBI since the FBI has been lying to use for decades, since J.E. Hoover.
  • He's attacked and slandered the Free Press about as much as the Free Press deserves for slandering everyone.
  • Whether or not he is a failure, he not only was elected, but has not started any wars yet. That is not bad.

I'm not going to take you on, on every bullet point. But, you're wrong on many of them. It's pretty clear you've consumed the kool-aid and are echoing talking points. Talking points used to mislead those who are not paying attention, or who only watch/listen to sources which confirm that narrative.

Cognitive dissonance creates willful ignorance. I suggest you bite the bullet points and listen to sources other than Fox New and/or AM radio dilettantes who make stuff up.

Echoing talking points is a liberal thing everybody know that. Liberal News all say the exact same thing.

I never listen to Fox, I am NOT a Trump supporter, and in fact I am far more leftest than anyone on this whole board.
The POINT is that all the candidates and presidents, (except Carter), has been lying and totally corrupt for half a century.
In comparison, Trump, as an outsider, has been slightly above average.
It is not that Trump is good, but that the rest have been so incredibly bad.
For example, remember that Hillary proposed and wanted to attack Iran over their enrichment program.
That is not only criminal and insane, but puts her in the league of one of the worst war criminals in history, regardless of the fact she was prevented from actually doing it.
My point is that Trump only looks good in comparison.

Trump is by far the greatest President since Reagan.

There is not even anything news worthy about Stormy Daniels.
Everybody has sex, and those with money usually end up paying for it.
There was nothing illegal or even interesting about it.

Those who think paying blackmail can be criminalized, do not understand the law.
The campaign finance laws are to prevent large secret donations from being used to monopolize the media.
Blackmail payments do not monopolize the media, so can not be regulated by Congress.
”There was nothing illegal or even interesting about it.”

The federal justice system says otherwise and Michael Cohen is going to jail over it.

He was never convicted by a jury, but was coerced into pleading guilty.
Which is bizarre since there is absolutely no law covering paying blackmail.
Cohen fronted the money for Stormy, and claims he was paid back.
But how would he know if the funds were private or campaign donations?
It is very clear Cohen has no idea what the law actually says.
There’s nothing at all bizarre about it. And there was no jury because Cohen expressed his Constitutional right to waive a jury trial and go straight to a judge. And he wasn’t convicted of paying off a blackmailer. In fact, no one’s been charged with blackmail in this case. This is just you, doing what you always do— making shit up you can defend since truth and reality are not on your side.

And Cohen is an experienced lawyer. You look ridiculous now positing he doesn’t know the law. :cuckoo:

Of course most lawyers do not understand law at all.
The only memorize statutes, which is not law in any way, shape, or form.
And since legislation is mostly written by lawyers, they are intentionally cryptic, fraudulent, and in violation of actual law, as defined by the principles of a democratic republic.

And if paying blackmail is not the issue, exactly what do you think is the main issue?
It can't be campaign finance reform laws, because the money Cohen was reimbursed with was just checks, and Cohen has no idea if that came from contributions or not. If you claim is that all blackmail payments have to be recorded as campaign expenditures, that is just insane. That would be an illegal attempt to get people to disclose their blackmail, even though Congress has no right to know if anyone pays blackmail or not.

If hiding bad news to protect a president is a crime then CNN, PMSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC AND NPR would all be sharing a prison wing.

They aren't the sharpest tacks in the box but you have to admire the their commitment to the narrative.
I do. I really do. No matter how much the Republican Party hurts them they vote GOP because in their minds it’s all about race.
It just doesn’t cross their minds that rich white people are going to hurt the poor white Republican base more than blacks or Muslims are Hispanics ever could.
The stupid is strong in that post.
Really? Perhaps you could point it out for us?
Of course, the racist nonsense. It's beyond stupid.
Looks pretty real from here.

I think I've identified your problem...

I am so glad the democrats refused to give fox a debate? Why would they even consider it in the first place? Why give that station any credibility?

They're afraid of the questions.

Ever hear of Slick Willie Clinton? Ever hear of Monica Lewinsky? Ever hear of Michael Isikoff? Ever hear of Newsweek magazine?

Money doesn’t have to come from campaign finances to be for a campaign. It only has to be for the campaign, regardless of where it’s from. And coming from Cohen, it could not exceed $2700. He also lied to a bank in regards to what the loan was for. That was yet another charge for which he was convicted.
