Fingerprints reveal whether you're black or white:

It's a shameless B.S. try for a federal grant. A fingerprint card lists the race of the person fingerprinted. Everyone has ridge endings and bifurcations in every fingerprint pattern, that's how they identify latent fingerprints. A latent fingerprint is most often fragmentary and incomplete and if it has a dozen ridge endings and bifurcations, the fingerprint examiner is lucky to make a match. A fingerprint examiner can do a lot with a latent fingerprint by making an educated guess at which finger it is and which hand by the pattern and even whether the perp is right or left handed but it's ludicrous to suggest that the limited number of identifiable characteristics in a latent print can ever indicate the race of the individual.
