Ads aren't taxed now? I assumed there was tax added into things like this.

I would be shocked if they started taxing political ads, but I do think its a good idea. I'm sure politicians would find ways around it, though. Like, Obama's half-hour long infomercial. If a politician would do that in the future. He would just say its a documentary. Or they would just start sponsoring more events which would not be considered political advertisements.
