Figures… Obama “Truth Team” Sends Out Email: Obamacare Is Not a Tax – It’s a Penalty

The funny thing is. All the idiots crying about this being an increase in taxes on the middle class but not one can give a specific example. Don't question it...just trust your masters at Fox news.

Yeah.... more equivocation. The spin masters can't seem to help themselves, on either side.

The truth of the matter is this is a large tax increase (and will get larger and larger as the years progress) scapegoating a targeted minority - people tired of getting fucked over by insurance companies.

But we both know it's not a widespread tax on the middle class as cons are trying to portray. It's a tax on what you call "people who are tired of being fucked over by insurance" or what I would call people who can afford insurance but choose to gamble and have the rest of us pay instead. I HATE insurance companies with a passion and everything they represent but I'm not about to gamble with me or my families health just to be a stubborn asshole.

I'm all for a public option or Universal care that will really bring costs down and shift the focus away from private insurers, but that's not happening anytime soon unfortunately.

Come on people, a bill SO good it had to be 2000 pages?

Have you seen some the reach by Government in this bill?

it's scary as hell if you value your FREEDOMS

vote out obama because of this law alone, not to count the rest of his piss poor Presidency

Still waiting for you to tell me how much your taxes will be increasing. Yours, specifically.

I actually think they're right in the long term. The overall costs of the plan will most certainly require us to raise taxes. It's also fair to say that the scapegoats - those targeted by the actually tax - will mostly be middle class.

So, you "hate insurance companies with a passion" but resent those of us with the courage to look for better alternatives?

Insurance is one way to pay for health care. It's proven to be a spectacularly bad way, especially considering the damage it's done to the health care market. What gives you the right to force it on others?

oh for crying out loud, it's been posted of how many and how the middle class is going to be TAXED..

as for Fox, YAWN yawn yawn

Not only taxed, but there are a number of excise taxes which are really taxes on taxes. The excise tax on medical devices will make those devices unaffordable for some.

What's happened is that liberals got up this morning, looked at their wallets and paychecks and said "I don't see any increase in taxes. That must mean it's never going to happen." When companies pay more in taxes, liberals really believe that the company is going to pay them and absorb the loss out of profits. In reality, those companies will just do what they have always done, which is pass the increase onto the consumer in the form of higher prices. To the liberal, the company is just being greedy and overcharging. When the liberal buys something they don't realize that built into the price of that good or service is minimum wage, taxes, transportation, tariffs, worker's compensation insurance, health insurance and a host of other small and large costs of business. The company that provides it is greedy and overcharging.

What's your alternative? If there was something viable out there, I'd be all ears, but there isn't.

There it is. Thanks for proving that this isn't a tax on the middle class.

What's your alternative? If there was something viable out there, I'd be all ears, but there isn't.

The alternative is to carry as little insurance as you can manage. To save the health care market we need to reverse all the policies that have promoted the habits that have destroyed it. That means getting rid of all the tax and regulatory policies that have encouraged people to over-insure. Most importantly it means allowing them to have as little insurance as they are willing to live with. The less insurance we have, and the more we pay for our health care out of pocket, the better.

The very last thing we should do is double down on bad policy and force everyone into a sinking boat. Which is exactly what ACA does.

Hey Staph and all of you idiots supporting the presently failed health care system in the US.

I, and at least half the rest of the voting Americans, do not care what you call it. I would like to see a system here where over 750,000 American families a year are not going to be bankrupted by an illness or an accident. I would like to see our health stastics equal to other industrial nations, instead of being similiar to third world nations.

Tax? Penalty? Who cares. Fix a failing system before it crashes completely. It is not like we don't have working models in other nations that are far more successful than what we have at present.

I think the the figures are that YOU and 34% like Obamacare, Rocks.

1. In March, the Congressional Budget Office said the law would cost $1.76 trillion from 2013 to 2022, nearly double the $900 billion Obama quoted in September 2009. That's only a partial picture. Beginning in 2014, the next 10 years of ObamaCare — through 2023 — will cost more than $2 trillion.

2. The medical overhaul is also a choice killer. Many will recall Obama promising that under his plan, "If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like your health care plan, you'll be able to keep your health care plan, period." Those aren't the facts.

3. As we reported in April, the CBO estimates that as many as 20 million Americans will be forced out of their plans as employers toss workers into government health exchanges to avoid ObamaCare's costs.

4. A survey by McKinsey and Co. found that nearly one-third of employers will likely to drop coverage for their workers once ObamaCare kicks in.

5. And an analysis by the Medicare actuary found that ObamaCare's attacks on Medicare's private insurance options will force nearly 8 million seniors out of the coverage they've chosen.

6. Consumer costs will rise. CBO says premiums will increase over the next decade faster than they did in the past five years.

Let's see, that makes about 2/3 of the country may be swayed to vote for leadership that will kill this law? :eusa_whistle:

I agree and it makes sense, but thats not something that can happen today, tomorrow or next month. Illness and accidents don't happen on our timelines, so how do we make the transition from the system we are in now to the one you suggest while ensuring that people aren't left out to dry when they get seriously sick?

False. I don't like this bill but I like the idea of reverting back to what we had before even less. I'm not the only one.

The obamataxtruth team wouldn't know the truth if it bit them in the ass.

I think they would, But they sure as hell won't admit it. They have a long term agenda and a Socialist/Communist Caucus too... I'm sure more about this will hit the media soon..

It's something that's happening already. And it would happen even quicker if we made some relatively minor changes to our tax and regulatory structure.

But the insurance lobby will have none of it. It's why they successfully lobbied to turn health care reform into an insurance mandate. It's why they spent so much money making sure the Republican alternative to Obama was also one of theirs.

To a country with Universal healthcare I'm sure.
