Did Jesus ever say anything about how a state should be run?

if you mean does Jesus say somehitng like "and the executive branch must be yadda yadda..." then no. But you can start here (Luke 20:19-26) as a jumping off point, then youre going to have to be able to determine what is caesers and what is gods.

Jesus says to render to God what is Gods. In that, everything belongs to God, all humanity, all governments, all economies, etc EVERYTHING!

Luke 20:19-26 (King James Version)

And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them. And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor. And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly: Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar, or no? But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt ye me? Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Caesar's. And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's. And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace.

By your own definition you make yourself wrong, I already gave you an example of how he behaved when the strict rules of conduct where no longer being obeyed.

Sorry it blew up your lil thread, but life sucks that way.

how so?

Jesus spoke constantly about taking care of the poor and not judging others .....

interestingly enough, he said not one word about homosexuality.

Jesus was a liberal. Actually, politically, Jesus was a radical, fighting the power of the San Hedrin which he feld dishonored true Judaism.

I think he means pay your taxes the government says you owe and give me my ten percent before giving to caesar. In other words, tithe on your gross, not your net.

Isaiah 9:7 There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this

Isaiah 11:4 But with righteousness He will judge the poor, And decide with fairness for the afflicted of the earth; And He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked.

Isaiah 11:5 Also righteousness will be the belt about His loins, And faithfulness the belt about His waist.

Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; He is just and endowed with salvation, Humble, and mounted on a donkey, Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey

Revelation 19:15 From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty.

1. Jesus Christ
2. George Washington
3. Abe Lincoln
4. Gandhi
5. Martin Luther King
6. Ben Franklin
7. FDR
8. Thomas Jefferson
9. JFK
10. James Madison

And what exactly have the conservatives done for us?

Half the People on that List are for Representative Government by Consent. They Are Anti Statist and were repulsed by Your Government Solution. Funny thought though. Jefferson and Madison both saw Your Preferred method of control as Tyranny. So do I.

Martin Luther King was a Republican, the Party of Lincoln.

Jefferson and Madison, and Thoreau, and Martin Luther King, and Gandhi, subscribed to the teachings of John Locke, who among other things, advocated nonviolent civil disobedience. Locke advocated Individual Conscience over Society, and dissent as a duty.

Liberalism is repulsed by individual witness, when at odds with it's agenda.

so why would he say "give caesar what's caesar's?

Jesus asked "whos image and superscription are on the coin?"

render to ceaser = the image of caeser whch is on the coin. the image of ceaser must be rendered to ceaser.

the superscription on the coin = the diety of ceaser is expressed. that is, ceasers claim to godhood.

this is not about if or not you should pay a poll tax.

humans are made in the image of God, man belongs to God, God is God not ceaser. Ceaser was no god, can you see that having a coin in your pocket that claims ceaser is god and you must submit to him is actually bad thing in the eyes of Christ? Christ wants you to submit to the Father, not to ceaser.

yeah, and hes not talking about socialism ya stupid shit.

Caesar didn't think he was a god. Where do you get this crap? Is George Washington a god because he's on the dollar bill? Get real.

"Render unto Caesar, that which is Caesar's"

Basically put, that means you are to operate under the laws of the empire. Respect the laws of man and practice your philosophies within the confines of those laws.

I'll stick with Justice, and Liberty, and Property, and The Pursuit of Happiness, which are not compatible with Equal Distribution of wealth and Totalitarianism. One Nation Under God, not One Nation Playing God.

So it seems Washington foresaw the plight of blacks, native americans, women and gays.....Way to go George!
