Republicans have been discussing how to withdraw Judge Brett Kavanaughâs nomination for the U.S. Supreme Court, former RNC Chairman Michael Steele revealed MSNBC.
Steele, who also served as Lt. Governor of Maryland, said the GOP is in a âno-win scenarioâ with Judge Kavanaughâs nomination during an appearance with Chris Matthews on âHardballâ on Monday.
âIf youâre a Republican and you like the job of senator, do you want to vote for this guy or youâd like the president to pull this baby as fast as possible?â Matthews asked.
âFirst off, he wanted this vote like three weeks ago at this point,â Steele replied. âBut youâre right, I think they want â they are probably looking for ways to avoid this.â
âAnd I believe that it at least is beginning to be discussed â in some circles at least â how they withdraw this nomination, which opens up a door that the party leadership does not want to have go through come the fall,â he continued...
