I think that does not describe most or all EU countries at all. No country on Earth enjoys the liberties citizens of the USA still enjoy though we're losing them fast. But most citizens of EU countries appreciate their countries and their status in life. You don't see 100s of Europeans flooding across the U.S. southern border to escape 'oppression'.
