Donald Trump is starting to go after Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont).

In a short attack video posted to Trump's Instagram account on Wednesday, Trump's campaign skewered the self-described Democratic socialist over his response to "Black Lives Matter" protesters who stormed the stage at a Sanders event earlier this year in Seattle.

"The world is a dangerous place. We need a tough, strong leader in the White House. And it's not this guy!" the video's narrator says.

"Bernie can't even defend his microphone — how will he defend the country?" the text block of the video reads.

Socialism does not inevitably evolve into communism. That only happens after the kind of social collapse that typically follows a devastating war or revolution, e.g., The Soviet Union.

Denmark is a socialist nation. It is known as the "happiest country in the world." Most of the Scandinavian countries, Sweden, Norway, et al, are socialist entities and their citizens are generally content with their lives.

The period between the late '40s and early '80s, which were the most productive and prosperous in U.S. history, stood as evidence that the best system of all is a capitalist economy which is closely controlled by socialist regulation. That system came to an end when Reagan began his progression of de-regulation, imposing "trickle-down" economics, which is better described as siphon-up economics, which began with the Savings and Loan Association failures and led to the economic disaster we're looking at today.

The simple fact is the U.S. economy went south when the socialist regulations that kept it on track were gradually removed. The evidence is right before our eyes but too few Americans care to look at it. They like the sound of right-wing propaganda better -- even though it represents the voice of the One Percent.

Unless you are among the super rich you would do well to re-think your opinion of Bernie Sanders and your notions about what socialism really is.
