Did Trump just say what I think he said?

No he didn't. He was the first president to spend more than $1 trillion. He increased the debt ceiling 17 times.
Spending may not be debt. For example, if his programs added a trillion dollars to the budget but .... hold on, got this from the Chicago Tribune at the time of Reagan.

"Once again, President Reagan wants to eliminate federal Amtrak subsidies and sell the rail passenger corporation`s Washington-New York-Boston line. He would also cut programs for college loans, food stamps, federal housing and mass transit. Spending on all farm programs would be slashed to $26.3 billion from $31.1 billion, with deeper cuts ahead."

Drilling is opened up. This is a false narrative that's been running for as long as I can remember. Oil companies are drilling as much as they want. They have drilling permits they're not even using.
Biden has gone to court to stop the drilling. What about he hates more oil don't you get?

No its not... rich oil reserves are closed off by Biden...

No they're not. There's millions of acres of leases that are open again. Oil companies have more drilling permits than they can use.

This is all controlled by the oil companies. Not Biden.

They drill and produce what THEY want. Not what the president wants. Oil is not state owned. The government doesn't tell them when and where to drill. Or how much to produce.

The oil leases that were closed, were ones that hadn't been used and no oil company was looking to lease them.

Johnsons first act as speaker was a CR.
Which is one reason I am asking here today we open up oil fields and have the Feds drill and sell the oil. This would no doubt the price at the pump would fall and revenue would be used to pay off or reduce the national debt.

Borrowing as much as Reagan did, yeah, spending was debt. Because he was spending more than the government was taking in. Way more.

So the oil firms are drilling in ANWR? And the coastal waters of Alaska? And the other coast waters that Buden used his executive order to do?

Nah, it was not much debt added. Don't forget who ran the Congress at the time.

Then from the Chicago Tribune

"But while the deficit may be inching downward on its own, there is little in the latest budget proposal to make significant inroads into the level of debt. What seems certain is that the budget sent to Congress will become a major battleground in the Democratic Congress this year.

Already, some Democratic leaders are discussing giving up on the $108 billion deficit goal of Gramm-Rudman. They would like to move on to negotiating with the President a new package of spending cuts and tax increases."

LMAO.. You're talking about this government controlling the oil? They can't even balance our budget. They can't keep the USD value in check.

Putting them in charge of oil production, that's a very bad idea.

You're talking best case scenario. The outcome of anything the government does never ends with "best case."

Oil is traded on the world market. Even countries that have nationalized their oil, they sell it for the global market price. And so would our government.

Not to mention the fact that we still don't, and can't produce enough to supply our own needs. Saudi supplies enough for their needs and has plenty to sell because their population is less than the population of California.

If our oil companies only had to supply that little, we'd be energy independent too. But we have to import millions of barrels per month just for our own needs.

Here we go again.... Your information is 100% untrue.... if what you say was true gas prices would have fallen not risen... so right there it proves you wrong... there are different grades of oil... not all grades can be refined in our country due to environmental concerns so that cheaper thicker oil is sold to other nations that can still refine it... Biden closed of the sites where the best US oil is located costing the oil companies their massive investments... just with a stroke of a pen....
And of course gas price went nuts....

Because Biden put the clamps on oil production. Sure the battle was fought in the courts, but Biden wants to kill oil production as much as possible.
Sure this is best case. Will it happen? Well will pigs become roosters? I have no faith at all in Government by any of them to curtail the national debt.

He is only talking about oil that is under the control of the oil corporations. But he ignores the impact of the eos that Biden ordered be impacted. His EOS controlled the Fed and not the oil companies he actually means.

"We're gonna get the debt way down", he says. And the ignorant rubes cheer.

He's just spitting out words. Maybe he's saying the sales tax or corporate tax from the oil would pay the debt down. Maybe. Or not.

Who knows. They just cheer anything he says.

Considering he ran up our debt faster than any administration in American history.

US oil companies don't have an unlimited supply of rigs and oil field hands. Plus there are still a ton of wells up there that are still producing. We're still getting oil from Alaska. Close to 500,000 barrels per day flows down the TAP.

Those Democrat policies are the shits.

That's true. But when it comes to education, the progressives have always been the stars of the show. Just look at the progressive era of the early 20th century. Of course, that's back when the Republicans were the predominantly progressive party.

He also is ignoring the fact that Biden has said he is going to end the US fossil fuel industry... so what oil exec in his right mind is willing to dump billions into drilling in sites that won't pay off for a decade.... They would be better off hanging onto the sites until we get Trump back in office and changes course...
