1 “Come, all you who are thirsty,
    come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
    come, buy and eat!
    Come, buy wine and milk
    without money and without cost.
2 Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labor on what does not satisfy?

God is dead. Always has been, but Jesus Christ most certainly was an early convert to communism.

    Merry Christmas, Speck.

He meant for us to be generous with our stuff. Very generous. Not with the stuff that belongs to other folks.

Ah, one of the Tribunes of The Ownership Society, rears his head...

God is undifferentiated consciousness. Nothing more, nothing less.

But we digress. What guilt do you feel for supporting and advocating the deregulation(s) and 'free market' nonsense, that led to the financial meltdown of recent years?

    Link?

This passage certainly doesn't sound that way....it sounds as if we should all receive equally what is available.

But if you have some scripture that claims otherwise, present it.

    1) ...god paid for it or made it. He did not steal it from others. He is sorta against stealing.
    2) ...he is talking about your sole and not your pocketbook

But god did mean us to be commies.... lock step and do not questions.

    Dover sole? :D

I doubt He'd consider taxation as "stealing."

I also don't recall where he frowned on questions.

There's also the ancient Jewish tradition of the Jubilee to consider.

See, our ancient pre-civilized ancestors lived in communist societies. Not socialist ('cause they had no government), but communist, as in Marx's last stage of social evolution, from-each-according-to-his-ability-to-each-according-to-his-needs, all capital property held in common, that kind of communist.

When our ancestors settled down in farming or pastoral communities, that changed and we began private ownership of land -- but it wasn't an easy change and many early societies resisted it. That includes the ancient Hebrews.

The Jubilee was something that was done once every 50 years. Over the course of those 50 years, land could be bought and sold by people, but on the Jubilee it was all divided into equal lots by family again. And this, like all other Jewish laws, was supposedly given by God.

It's in Leviticus chapter 25. Look it up.
