Detroit was once the symbol of American excellence and industrial power, the envy of the world. So the Democrats (Neo-Marxists) and their UAW counterparts made a project of destroying the US auto industry and Detroit in particular.

Just like in 2007 when the democrats took back control of the house and senate. The crash of the economy was intentional that's how they got an enemy of America elected.
Crashing the economy in such a short time was simple when you already have the frame work of 60+ years of democrat control of the government in part or whole in place.
