Dems Give Charlie Rangel Standing Ovation For Being Unethical...

No my name is'nt Jesus... Im italian, not tex-mex

I will ask you the same question..... "How the fuck do you know what prompted them to applaud?"

Do you have some magical crystal ball.... Im stating MY opinion based on Dems record of having NO ethics at all!

ok, I see what I'm dealing with then, have a good day.

What would that be... someone willing to stand toe to toe with you and say your full of it?

Oh... OK

Have nice day :fu:

Someone who plays the us vs. them routine, as evidenced by "Dems record of having NO ethics at all!" - said by you. I'm not interested in kid's stuff.

When Rangel resigns from Congress,i'll be the first one to praise him for having some honor & integrity left. Till then,it's all just blah blah blah. Same ole same ole.

If Charlie Rangel was anyone else, he would be in Prison for what he did.

But because he is a Democrat he gets a standing Ovation.

And you guys are defending it.

Since when would someone get jail time for owing $10,000 in back taxes?

For some reason, people believe the number is actually greater than 10K. Truth is, it is a shade above 8K.....about 400 a year over the 20 years of poor accounting practices.

Now, I can not speak for Rangel...but something tells me he would not sacrifice his credibility and his stature for 400 bucks a year.

I do not see it as a crime nearly as much as I see it as an honest mistake.

Me? When I make an honest mistake I will continue to make it until someone shows me I am making a mistake.....and I certainly wouldnt want to be punished for it.

Since when should someone who doesn't pay his taxes be allowed to subject others to the laws he writes? That's the better question. He should get his ass out of the congress.

One year, I received a notice from the IRS that I owed about 4K more in taxes than I paid. Apparently, there was a 1099 I never declared as income...an honest mistake.

It was disocvered about 3 years later....I received a bill which included interest and minor penalties.

Certainly, I was not sent to jail; asked to quit my company...it was an honest mistake.

Let it go.

So get off your stupid high horse!

Remember the "punish your enemies remark"? Probably not, b/c he seems to be in your corner.

No, I won't let it go. Cause Charlies actions were not mistakes. How could he not know he had to pay taxes on rental income? And what was that about having rent subsidized properties he used in NY for offices? Come on now, his lists of "mistakes" is way too long. He should get his ass out of congress. And as far as his service goes he should be ashamed to use it as a means to escape justice for his lawbreaking. That's pretty damn low of him.

The Tax money owed isn't in America, it is in Dominican Republic. Their tax system is all screwed up, and no one pays taxes there. Rangle owes taxes on $75,000. for a rented beach house, which the DR hasn't attempted to collect, because they have no collection agency down there. Go figure that one out.

Not rent subsidized....rent STABLIZED....BIG DIFFERENCE

The rental income was for an out of country property....there is valid reason for a mistake.

Lets look at it this way...

DO you TRULY believe that a man with moderate wealth would compromise his reputation over $400 a year?

Past honorable Military Service just isn't enough to excuse this. And a Standing Ovation is not appropriate and i don't care how much the Dems try and spin things. Instead of applauding him they should be demanding his resignation. Just think about the last Election and how Democrats viciously attacked John McCain. Did his past honorable Military Service matter to them then? Obviously it didn't. If Rangel resigns,i'll give him a Standing Ovation.

He made mistakes that he should have to suffer the consequences for. He should be made an example of to create a deterrent for others.

But, there have been others that have made far worse mistakes in recent years. If you were to rank the worst offences by members of Congress over the last 10-15 years, Rangel is by no means the worst of the bunch.

That's unfortunate, but true. Most were Republicans.

I suggest you check TM's link.

Just because some morons on the left mocked McCain for injuries he sustained as a POW, and disrespected his service, does not mean that you have to be a moron about Rangel. I dislike Rangel's behavior, and I disagree with his politics... however, he served his country with honor in the military and that deserves recognition. I also think he should resign. I wouldn't applaud him for doing the right thing - but I won't hang the man either.

I am not sure of what Rangel did for America to get a standing ovation, but I think your fantasys are carrying you away into the Unicorn Zone. He did resign his chairmenship of the Ways & Means committee, but why resign from Congress. He wants you to pay his way from cradle to grave, and you will pay.

The idiots are conflating Applauding his Bravery, with excusing his ethics issues. That's why they're called idiots.
