At this point nearly everyone thinks Romney will win the primary, but such was not the case when the primaries first started...agreed?

Romney was the frontrunner in the realclear average from Feb '11 to August, and is NOW trailing Santorum.

It won't last. Look at the charts: Realclearpolitics

Romney bottomed out in September of last year and has been on a slow increase ever since. Santorum stayed low and at the beginning of February he made a surge and maxed out a week ago. His numbers are starting to trend down again and he will take a nose dive just like Perry, Cain, and Gingrich did. Santorum is just the flavor of the month but he will be finished after Tuesday and he'll take a beating a week later on Super Tuesday and that will be that.

Romney is only even in it at all because modern American conservatism is bereft of talent.

They are so fully convinced of their own inherent goodness that any action or attitude or statement from the left must by definition be virtuous no matter what it is.
