And as this thread shows.....the actual federal check they actually went through at the gun dealer...didn't do a thing to stop them from selling their gun to a criminal, and it had no part in catching them after they did. They went through the background check that they already have to go through, and passed it, then they were caught selling the gun to criminals with a traditionl police sting after being ratted out by a snitch, no background check was required for that, and current gun laws already allow us to lock them up.
