The extent of greed and criminality in our government is beyond belief. Do politicians take a course in theft and how to screw their constituents before running for office? What an embarrassment DC is.

IMO/O, our federal government and probably a lot of state governments are now made up of mostly a permanent political class; i.e. professional politicians and opportunists who are in it to increase their personal prestige, power, influence, and wealth. Almost all exit Congress as millionaires or greatly more wealthy than they were when they got there. Coincidence? Hardly. People like Corrine Brown are probably recruited and helped to get elected because they are or want to be part of that permanent political class and not for their vision, ethics, or morals. The true reformers and visionaries are either converted or they likely will be out.
