Cons say the government doesn't create jobs....

The Government creates millions of jobs

2 million federal employees, state and local employees, policemen, firemen, teachers....

The entire defense industry is created by the governement

Who are then payed by the tax payer. Robbing Peter to pay Paul.

No you are not

Taxpayers are paying for services they demand

Really? I know damn well I dont demand more IRS employees.

IRS is one of the few agencies that make money

By taking it from the tax payer.

...Cons say Obama doesn't deserve credit for cutting unemployment in have, because the government can't create jobs.

But now Jeb Bush is promising to create 19 million jobs. And Trump is promising to create the most jobs of any previous POTUS.

Hypocrisy IS the GOP.
Of course you're simply lying again.

You are as usual, confused.

The government does NOT create jobs and both Bush and Trump would tell you that. If you had a functioning brain cell to your name, you'd know what they meant but you are an idiot so it has to be explained to you.

What they mean is to create an environment where private businesses can create jobs. Like reducing taxes, giving tax incentives, cutting regulations, and basically getting the goverent out if the way.

Another ignorant left wing nut thread killed. My job is done here.

Who created the millions of jobs in the defense department? Including the men and women in uniform?

Who created public school teaching and non-teaching jobs?

Who created the jobs in law enforcement?

Who created the jobs for every business that has business with the government?
Without the government, the war machine contractors wouldn't exist.

So, without government there would be no war? Interesting theory.

22 million employees

You make that out to be a good thing.

Why wouldn't it be?

No society can function without a government

Only a liberal would think expansion of government is a good thing.

Why not?

If government can do some things more efficiently than individuals...why shouldn't they?

Playing semantic word games (courtesy of Media Matters) is all the radical left seems capable of doing these days. The government doesn't create jobs. The government creates an environment where jobs can be created. So far Obama has rejected advances in petroleum energy, has used the IRS as a gestapo like espionage agency and has taken a hostile attitude towards corporations that create jobs. What the left doesn't seem to understand and has never understood is that government doesn't make a dime on it's own, it confiscates money. Government financed projects do not grow the economy. They merely shift confiscated money from one segment of society to another.

That's wrong. The gov appropriated those jobs from the private sector, forcibly taking money that would have been used to employ those same people in different roles.

Let Me ask you something.

When someone says to you, "We need to create jobs"

What is it that you actually hear?

You see, to Create a job does not means to simply sign a form to add more people to the payroll.

The military is not a job, it's an adventure, where we brag about doing more by 9am than most people do all day...that is why I was so sleepy during my service....

Do you build and maintain your own roads?
Do you hire your own police protection?
Do you verify the safety of your drinking water, food and drugs?
Hire your own teachers?
Do you maintain your own legal system?

Many, many things are done better collectively than individually

A private company could do it for half the price.

Who pays for these "government jobs"? Taxpayers

Do these "jobs" make a profit? Nope

Government jobs are a net DRAIN on the economy.
That's not to say that's always a bad thing. Soldiers and the like are a drain, true, but a very necessary one. A bureaurcrat writing guidelines for grants to study alcoholism among Chinese prostitutes is also a drain. And a very unnecessary one.

The government IS the people

By law, government is not to run on a profit

Government jobs do not drain the economy, they are an essential function OF the economy

What they mean is they will continue to cut taxes for the wealthy, continue to allow fees to be raised which are regressive, and seek to end SS so the bankers and brokers will be able to invest this money for the working men and women, with no guarantee anyone will make money but for the bankers and brokers.

The government does create jobs. That it cannot is another BIG LIE parroted by right wing hacks. Jobs are available now in the navy, army and air force; the federal register has grants available which will require labor (that is jobs) and look at the retail jobs which grow near every City Hall, Court House and other government buildings.

Bull shit. Another BIG LIE by another partisan hack. Libertarians are no different than utopian socialists. That is fixated on an idea, a fantasy, devoid of any critical thought or pragmatism.

It is telling that you think liberty is a fantasy devoid of critical thought and pragmatism.
