Confirmed: Trump Organization did negotiate with a sanctioned Russian bank in 2016

It probably didn't occur to the liberal members of our conversation, but you can work out a deal with the company or Russia along with a bank and then switch banks to finance before you close.

That us NOT the point...it is unethical to negotiate with a sanctioned bank....and worse since he was running for the presidency...which Putin assured he won.

So you admit Trump did not do business with the Russian bank in question. Putin did nothing to help Trump win, the Democrats running Hillary did.

Is it against the law to build a freaking hotel in Moscow?...

I am not sure what the rules for doing business with a sanctioned bank?
Did they "do business?"

Negotiating is doing business, even if the negotiations fail

No, negotiating is an ATTEMPT to do business.

I'll make it real plain for you:

IT DOES NOT MATTER.

Serious negotiating with sanctioned bussiness is ILLEGAL, just like seriously planning to rob a bank is illegal.

You idiots are wrong on this made up legal theory, time to MOVE ON.

Was that the level of sanction used? It was not a total sanction.

Confirmed: Trump Organization did negotiate with a sanctioned Russian bank in 2016

Felix Sater, a Soviet-born former Donald Trump advisor and real estate dealer, confirmed last night to MSNBC’s Chris Hayes that the Trump Organization negotiated with sanctioned Russian bank VTB to build Trump World Tower in Moscow.

Unless they actually did business with them, it's meaningless.

.

Negotiating is doing business

Business is done when something of monetary value changes hands, you can negotiate with a car dealer all day long and in the end if you don't buy the car, did you do business with him? The answer is no because neither of you got anything of monetary value from it.

So, you can negotiate to have your wife killed and as long as no money changes hands then there was no crime done.

Give that a try and see how it works for you.

So a Trump organization may have negotiated to get a real estate loan for a project in Moscow from a bank in Moscow.

Of course you can provide a link to the law that says that, RIGHT?

Show me the law that says it's a crime to talk to a sanctioned entity. Time to put up or shut up.

So, if it is a crime to negotiate with a sanctioned entity, you will openly admit Trump Inc did something wrong? If not, then what is the point of me even looking.

The same could be said of buying a car based on getting a loan, signing all the paperwork, but when your loan is turned down, the deal is cancelled. Did you do business with the dealership? I think so. Was it a successful transaction, no.

Half of business is negotiating, the other half is closing the deal.

Did Trump negotiate away 25% of our uranium in exchangefor a $125MM donation to the Trump Foundation??

Below is NOT for you, Frankie-baby....You're too far gone with the kool-aid....but, for others

The Clinton Foundation received $145 million in pledges and donations from original investors in Uranium One, prior to its sale to Rosatom.

Former President Bill Clinton also received $500,000 for speaking at a Moscow conference organized by a Russian investment bank after the Rosatom-Uranium One deal was announced, but before it passed muster with the US Committee on Foreign Investments, according to the Times story.

Most of the $145 million in Clinton Foundation donations came from one person, a major Uranium One investor named Frank Giustra. Mr. Giustra has said that he sold all his shares in Uranium One about 1-1/2 years before Mrs. Clinton became secretary of State – and three years before Rosatom and its Russian cash came calling.

There is no direct evidence of a quid pro quo between Clinton and Uranium One backers. As one of nine members of a US committee weighing the deal, it was not within Clinton’s power to approve the deal on her own. There is no evidence Clinton was even informed of the prospective deal while she was secretary of State. While cabinet heads make up the committee, that is a nominal position. As often the case in government, subordinates go to the meetings and do the work.

What's the real story behind Hillary Clinton, Russia, and uranium ...

Question: was russia under any kind of sanctions when the uranium one deal took place? If so, that would make that deal just as illegal as the deal Trump allegedly made, correct?

.

The same one that says it's a crime to do business with a sanctioned entity. It's called "attempted [fill in the blank]"

We make it as much a crime to try to commit a crime, as it is to succeed at committing the crime. Police would rather catch somebody and charge them with "attempted murder" than wait to see if they can get him on something more serious.

Think about it.

In the end no business was conducted, nothing of value changed hands.
