Clinton loss in West Virginia signals trouble in Rust Belt

Another state that doesn't matter.

They were too stupid to realize coal was over and refused to learn a new trade. Now we will be providing them welfare for generations.

I love it when the left tells the truth on rare occasion. The liberals did the same thing to the timber industry under Clinton...you are going to love this the Clinton's destroyed entire towns dependent on the timber industry so they gifted affected states with billions in federal money to help those who's jobs and lives they destroyed...here comes the punch line...and the states confiscated the money and spent it on other crap instead.
The most feared language in the English language:

"I'm from the government, and I'm here to help you."

So people who have their livelihoods destroyed by the government deserve what they get? There's the liberal compassion we've heard so much about.

The thing is, it isn't "the government' destroying their livlihood, it's the energy needs of the country. Coal is so 19th century.... you know, kind of like your political philosophy.

The indisputable fact is that hundreds of coal fired powered plants have closed only because of the EPA's new regulations.

Another lie by a quintessential partisan hack: Lies, lies of omission and half-truths are the genre of bripat and other members of the crazy right wing.

Uses of Natural Gas

Electric plants shift from coal to natural gas - NC Clean Energy Technology Center

Natural gas expected to surpass coal in mix of fuel used for U.S. power generation in 2016 - Today in Energy - U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA)

As natural gas replaces coal, U.S. utilities invest big in the future

More alarming (for Hillary) is Hillary is on a losing streak. She desperately needs a win.

The Democrat primary process is designed for Hillary to win....
Bernie keeps winning the primaries and he's losing ...
Hillary loses and she wins delegates???

Bernie could probably win every primary/caucus from here on out and
not close the gap....

Hillary is on her way to the nomination and the only thing that could derail her
would be the FBI report on her e mail activities....

But since the conclusion of the FBI investigation is still a few years away...maybe four or five.
Well Hilly baby just needs to pass the time until her coronation.

Thanks so much for your unsolicited opinions, they enlighten as does a total eclipse of the sun.

Coal is over?

According to who?

Learn a new trade?

Such as?
Most of the easy to reach coal has been dug up. If you go to an area and start removing something on a large scale over hundreds of years, eventually, what ever you have been removing begins to run out. That's just common sense. Not sure why it had to be explained.

It ran out?

When did that happen?

Of course....it hasn't
America enjoys the resources to be the world’s top oil producer, the world’s top natural gas producer, the world’s top coal producer, and the world’s top producer of nuclear energy. The problem is that our own government has stood perversely in the way, preventing America from using its own resources to produce a reliable supply of low-cost energy. Historically, nations have gone to war to ensure their access to essential energy supplies, most notably the Japanese in World War II.

Your links prove nothing. No matter how cheap gas is, it's still far more expensive to build a new gas plant than it is to continue running an existing coal plant. Obama's EPA forced 400 coal plants to close with new regulations that would have required utilities to spend hundreds of million of dollars in upgrades to comply with them. That fact simply isn't contestable.

Thanks so much for your unsolicited opinion, it is much appreciated. As to the ignorance posted in the OP, there is no surprise that a hack like you would ignore evidence to refute it. But I learned long ago, at times one can learn from hacks and narcissists, thus I humbly apologize. Strike BULLSHIT and add, digested bull feed.

Do you have evidence? Even if true, and considering you are the source (thus) truth is always in doubt; your post was a LIE by OMISSION and a HALF-TRUTH.

The fact that the close immediately after the EPA announced its new rules is all you need to know. If you have even a limited understanding of economics, you should be even more convinced. The price of natural gas could be zero, and it would still be cheaper to keep existing coal plants running than to build a new natural gas plant to replace them.

Coal was dying long before the new EPA rules were announced.

Excellent alliteration. Would have been even more descriptive with the addition of "lying", "loudmouth" and "laughable".

No it wasn't. Until fracking came along coal was by far the cheapest form of energy.
