CDZ Civil War 2. Is it Coming?

it's always our friends on the right who start talking tough about a civil war.

one of the false assumptions they make is that they're the only ones with guns.

they're not.

Americans are too fat and lazy to support a civil war

Gun owners would pee their pants

I have addressed that false assumption in my OP. You are rolling the dice to assume it would go the way the government wants.

Very dangerous assumption

The government outguns citizens by an extremely high margin. They might not win (because they haven't won a war since WWII when they had lots of help), but Syria will look like Disneyland compared.

All the government has to do is shut down the cell phone network and block access to internet porn and the gun owners will give in

Your OP was written by a hysterical drama queen

Americans are too comfortable to engage in Civil War

That is a dangerous assumption. I think differently

OK general, what's your first target in this civil war of yours?

NYC?

LA?
My first target will be the ISIS sympathizers....

There is no denying, the temperature is rising in America. Our culture and just about everything associated with the Old America are under assault. I choose the word assault, but its OK for others to use 'change'. I'm OK with that. But I fear for what is ahead in our country.

If a Civil War manifest as a direct result of the confiscation of guns, the deaths in this country will be horrific. If we are to believe its only us old people who are 'clinging to our guns and religion, it would be unwise to assume everyone, or even the majority, would willingly relinquish their guns. The older generation could view the risk of death, and rationalize it by realizing they have not many years left to live by default.

This recent attack on our civil liberties is fearsome, all in the name of children killed in school shootings. I argue the deaths we will see from a Civil War II will far exceed, by order of magnitude, those children killed in classrooms.

The end does not justify the means

Remember the bread riots? There will be a US War over food and water before anyone comes for your guns and starts "Cival War 2."

They are 'coming' for the guns in Oregon and they eat very well

Agreed as noted in my OP

YES, absolutely, there will be some kind of civil war far down the road -- IMHO.

But it will NOT be over the issue of guns. (It will be over another issue.)

Highly unlikely. The problem with these civil war fantasies is that most people think they are going to be the pens or the generals of the revelotuion. You’re going to have a thousand generals and five grunts.
I will be a grunt, no problem, I can just work on my urban guerrilla warfare. Shoot down the Trader Joes and Starbucks so the liberals dont know where to hide.

How silly! You leave Starbucks untouched. The gut-rot from their coffee could add numerous folks to the causality rosters.

In the upcoming Civil War, the government will use confiscated NRA membership rolls to find out where the guns are

We have God and guns on our side.

Nope...

Civil war has been coming since the end of the Insurrection when the South lost the war...

So nothing but talk and crying but at the end of the day there will never be another Civil War, well in my lifetime...

If an agreement could be reached to divide into separate countries a civil war would be avoided.

Talk of civil war is just hysterical raving by grossly immature people. Even if one counts only the adult population of our 320-million+ population, the amount of people hysterical over the idea that the government might take their arsenals away is very small in comparison to the number of normal people here. Those who are violent and want to kill would be promptly rounded up.

In any event, the OP never defines what "Our culture" is and what, exactly is "associated with the Old America." As I can recall, the "good old days" didn't involve idiots traipsing around with military-grade weaponry, gangs playing soldiers in the woods, and people making threats on the internet and calling other people vile names. There was no internet, people had proper manners and respected each other's privacy, and our rifles and pistols were only used for target shooting and were kept under lock and key.

Civil war?
Used to think maybe so. 25 years ago I was certain Americans would never allow all the stuff that has already transpired. Now half the nation wants it transformed significantly. I guess things are too good.

Fascinating thing about humans....they never learn from the past.

The cities would be one “country”
Rural areas in another

It would not work
