I bought a Stirling Engine a couple of years ago.

It operates on temperature differential. You can fill the cup with either a hot liquid or ice cubes to make it cycle. Fun to play with and amaze the grandkids. ....

To clarify one of my images, the gear with the arrow pointing at it should have gone on the frame first, not second like in my image. I must really be a a low tech flyover country rube!

Also I put a drop of oil on each gear to lube them. Mine takes 5 quarters to properly weight it. More makes it double bump sometimes when the ball starts back, and less quarters makes it stop in mid cycle.
