Comment: First thing I notice is that they are only playing non-Christian Christmas songs (Jingle Bells, etc.). Unacceptable. I ask a clerk, "What is the reason for the season?" and I get back "What?". I buy a shirt and when they ask me what kind of wrapping paper, I reply that I want nativity paper or something showing the baby Jesus. They say they only have snowflakes and snowmen and green/red paper. What does green and red have to do with JESUS?

Comment: I noticed the Muslims milling about the store, but no mention of Christmas anywhere...so I didn't bother to spend any of my money here.

Comment: The original holiday celebrated in this country is Christmas. No one mention of this holiday with all the others rattled off was stated in the Gap's first holiday commercial. No one has the right to remove Christmas from our country or our vocabulary!

Comment: Americans celebrate Christmas. I find Old Navy/Gap advertising offensive as they list every imposter holiday under the sun as being equivalent to Christmas. It's arrogant and insulting. We won't give our business to this organization anymore!

This stuff is too stupid to be fake. I guess the "War on Christmas '09" has officially begun.

I'm with you, Bill. It really offends me to all of a sudden hear everything referred to as "holiday" this and that... I would rather hear things like Christmas tree instead of "Holiday tree". Christmas card instead of "Holiday card". Kids get out of school because of the Christmas break not the "Winter break". I don't believe in political correctness. If the mention of anything to do with Jesus, Christmas or religion in general offends you then you are a bit too thin skinned. While it might be trendy or the in thing to be so much against the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, someday when people are standing toe to toe with God at their time of judgement, it would be interesting to know just how much God is interested in political correctness.

Is there something wrong with reminding people what the season is about?

To celebrate holiday that was used to assimilate pagans into Christianity and to celebrate a day which really isnt Jesus birthday?

What I find idiotic is these people expecting that people tell them Merry Christmas, a month before Christmas I might add, just to appease their religious beliefs and make themselves feel better and self righteous about being Christian.

I was unaware that you could only celebrate Jesus's birth on His actual birthday. I understand now. It's completely silly for people to want to actually celebrate the reason for the season. It's completely unreasonable for people to be upset to see their holy day usurped to make money.

Oh and Christians chose to celebrate Christmas at this time of year because they could do so safely when they were being persecuted by those good and noble pagans. Not to assimilate them.

Jesus maybe the "reason of the season" for you but for me and millions of other americans Jesus is of little consequence. No ones telling them that they cannot celebrate Christmas, but dont expect me to celebrate Christmas or tell everyone "Merry Christmas" so Christians can feel more self righteous. These people upset about their holy day being usurped are the ones complaining that retail stores arent being "Christmasy enough" to get their money. Christians have done enough on their own to make their day less about Jesus, happiness, and family and more about money, cheap plastic shit, and commercialism.

And Christmas does owe its origins to pagan holidays. Its a fact and a testament to Christianity's willingness to be inclusive of other peoples in their attempts to assimilate them.

Let me inform all believers now--this is the capitalist over taking Christmas and none of it is supported by the Atheistic Agenda.

We Atheists plan to reveal the Christmas deception to as many children in the world. If your child sits you down for a major discussion the day after Christmas, then that is the result of Atheism attacking Christmas.

You are now forewarned, believer!!

go say xmas on your own fucking dime, dogma junkies. Or, take your fucking dollars to that christian book store that no one wants anything from. No one is robbing you of your personal HOLIDAY expression by being inclusive. No one is slapping the jesus out of your fucking yule celebration by not regurgitating your preferred greeting. for real, if jebus were alive today and saw what kind of issue seems to get your christianity fired up he would probably regret not bitch slapping more moneychangers at the temple. You silly fuckers prove just how farcical your "faith" really is every goddamn HOLIDAY season.

Most of the people who post here were not here at the birth of this nation. If they were, as the nation grew, they would have seen that the Birth of Jesus has always been "Christmas." It was not called anything else. It is an American tradition.

If the time that the students get out of school is really only a "winter break," then it needs to be chortened to one week, and maybe even removed altogether. Why? There is no point for the break if it is not as was initially done, "Christmas holidays." If it is not about Christmas, tell the kids they just have to go to school.

I really don't care what others call the holidays. I still call it Christmas. I really don't care about worrying about who is offended. I am a child of the King, and it is His birth that I celebrate. It is and has been a greeting "Merry Christmas" for over 200 years in America, so I think it is correct. If some want to be slaves to PC, that is their issue, not mine. I don't cater to PC at all.

I also don't mind if others are PC. That is their choice, and I am not offended. My faith is not dependent on the agreement of others.

Here is the deal, It is only when our expressions of Christmas are called into question that we debate it. However, just realize that it is the nonbelievers who are the weak skinned, and the ones who are so easily offended. Our celebrations of our faith are not about "self-righteousness." That is your terms.

The initiators of the "War on Christmas" is not the Christians. It is the Atheists, for the most part. They are the ones who just can't stand it. Oh well, they can just ignore it.

We have no problem with the presence of the "secular Christmas." While that is not what Christmas is about, we also enjoy that part to some degree. But, I believe if the Christian Christmas needs to be ended, then so does the secular Christmas. In that case, Christians still win, because we still have the Savior, and We can still celebrate His birth, and we don't have to do it publically.

do they mop up the trail of blood dripping from your vagina every year you cry about retail greetings yet keep buying shit from the very stores you are cramping about?

yea... it SURE IS the non believers predictably crying like bawling fucking children every HOLIDAY SEASON.

sure. whatever you say, nutbar. Go cry on the plastic shoulder of your lawn jesus while the rest of us watch your kind melt down THIS year like you have the last decade. Your christian testimony, and what it REALLY means to you, is an epic fail every time you pretend that WAL MART GREETERS and ADVERTS that don't thank little baby jesus for low, LOW prices rob you of celebrating your own fucking dogma junkie way. This Dec. 25, when you go ahead and celebrate however you will REGARDLESS of how coddled you are in retail stores feel free to remain the seasonal punchline that your kind are.

LOL...You really need medical help. It is Atheists (a few of them) and some nonbelievers, who are making a bad name for the rest of you. However, you are one of the ones making the bad name for yourself.

Christians are only standinf firm in their belif that in America freedom or religion is still a real freedom, and there is no such thing as freedom from religion. I personally will conmtinue to tell Satan to get behind me, everytime someone tries to step on my faith.

The whinners are those few bad apples in the atheist and nonbeliever camp, and the few bad eggs in the Christian camp who persue this issue in the first place.

You, however, are one of the bad apples, IMO.

You want to celebrate Jesus? Sit your ass in a church pew, preferably around midnight.

You're pretty confused if you're looking for Jesus in a department store...
