Are they a good thing or bad ?
I have seen many links regarding poor results and corruption but is this the whole story ?
In the Uk we have an equivalent and they are called Academy Schools.
They were floated on the promise of "excellence" and freedom from the local authorities. Educators being allowed to work free of state shackles.
They have turned into nasty little corporations that siphon off public funds into private pockets at the expense of the kids.
Has the US sorted the Charter Schools and are there lessons for the UK to learn ?
