Hey there.. There has been a general liberalization of the rules in the Taunting Areas (Flame Zone, RubberRoom, etc) over time.. Use of "liberalization" was not a political comment --- 
And certain Site-Wide Rules were enforced only for GROSS violations or with some "general guidance" on what would be enforceable.
Largely because we waste a lot of time donning the Hazmat suits to go down there and clean up the crime scene -- and to prevent different "moderator discretion" judgements --- we decided to be more specific. We cannot find a "relaxed version" of the "altering quotes" rule that can't and won't be abused.
So the decision is to keep that rule for ALL forums including the Taunting Area. Regulars to those forums have plenty of other ways to abuse and torture their victims..

- Editing quotes. You may selectively quote, provided that it does not change the context or meaning of the quote. When you comment on the quote, do it outside of the quote box. Do not post inside of the quote box.
