Unfortunately, before Susan B Anthony, we had that here, and it wasn't for religious reasons either. I think it was Wyoming that the women had to give up the right to vote before they could become a state.

Am I misunderstanding or did you just write that Wyoming had to stop letting women have the vote to become a state?
The US government has in fact NEVER prevented a woman from voting. Not in any circumstances. Now it IS true that laws were written by individual states allowing only white male property owners to vote, but they EASILY could have given women the vote. And in fact many did.New Jersey did for 50 years before strangely they revoked the right.
The 19th Amendment is the first mention of womens' suffrage in the COTUS.
