As the GOP gets weirder and farther away from traditional values, can it survive without the huge influx of Wall Street Funds? Even Wall Street is "diversifying". That's terrible news for a party that's 90% white, anti education and has gone off the deep end. Costing the country 25 billion by shutting down government isn't the way to attract wealthy donors.

And without Wall Street money, where are they going to get funds? From Jethro and Ellie Mae? Doesn't seem likely.

I don't know. What about the Democrat party? They get even more than the Repubs do.

Sniff ... sniff ... sniff sniff ...

Dude, what's that smell? It's pretty bad. It's hypocrisy! OMG, and it's a reeker! Can you warn us before you fire one of those off?

And now Senate Minority Leader Mitch "I Want To Be Majority Leader" McConnell:

Wall Street has given MORE to the Minority Leader than they have to the Majority Leader!

Yeah. I'd say Wall Street is still taking care of the GOP.

Both sides of the aisle, in both houses of Congress, are completely and totally owned by Wall Street.

Some people really need to read the OP again. This is not about the Democratic party.

I just showed the Speaker of the House, the House Majority Leader, and the Senate Minority Leader donations.

The GOP is fat with cash from Wall Street.

Fat!

But the simple fact is that BOTH parties are owned. Lock, stock, and barrel.

Compared to Adelson, Kochs, Murdoch ...

They don't need Wall Street.

Congress is openly fellating crooks for cash. They are syphilitic hookers.

They have running pustules of disease running down their flesh into our gutters as they rest on their calloused knees to service the people who are stealing from you.

Of course they can.

The energy sector can more than finance the GOP.

Heck, they could buy the entire country.

And conservatives would swear fealty to their new masters in a heartbeat.

Well, they already do!

:D

Colorful but accurate.

We only have ourselves to thank for it though.

I don't remember Obama's big claim to clean up Wall Street.
Really. You don't remember Hopey McChangepants promising to clean things up?

He thumped and thumped and thumped Wall Street in his campaign speeches. Repeatedly.

Frank/Dodd and the Consumer Protection Board was a good start.

Bringing back Glass-Steagall? That would be golden. :D

Obama mentioned in his campaign speeches that he believed repealing Glass-Steagall was a mistake.

Neither one of those touched credit default swaps. And the CFPB was compromised before its doors even opened.

The derivatives exchanges were hijacked by the very consortium which caused the crisis, and they were successful in getting the CFPB to completely destroy the original intent for the definition of a commodities end user.

The games Wall Street is playing with commodities right now are beyond outrageous. And Congress and our regulators willfully allow it to happen.

We're fucked.

Way, way more than they gave to Pelosi. More than ten times more!

That is hardly "letting go of Congress".

And what would the Dems do without all of that taxpayer provided Public Union Money to support them?

Did you see a single union in all those lists of top donors I provided for Reid or Pelosi or Schumer?

Nope.

Did you see any kind of unions in all those lists of top 5 Industries which donated to them?

Nope.

Labor doesn't even make the top 20 of Harry Reid's donors. Nor Chuck Schumer's.

"Industrial Unions" come in at number 13 for Pelosi. "Misc Unions" come in at Number 20.

It's Wall Street and lawyers who own Democrats, kids. Not unions.

And they own Republicans, too.
