Kids get into fights in school all the time. Breaking up fights is a tricky situation. A few days ago, a teacher in Brockton was injured trying to break up a fight. When the kids involved are boys, sometimes they are really big boys and you need teachers and/or campus security who can handle themselves to break it up without becoming collateral damage themselves. That's one thing, but when the kids involved are girls - and these days it is more likely that they will be - the situation is even more delicate. You can't be too rough with girls even though they are going at each other like crazy. We have some female security on campus, but you can't count on them just happening to be on hand when a cat fight breaks out. But you do your best.
