Let's stay on topicYou should probably tell that to the Iraqis and the Afghanis.....they just sort of drove us out....with small arms and bombs......you know...the U.S. the most advanced military on the face of the planet..........boy, you guys are stupid.
It comes down to...is it worth it?
We never should have been in either country
That has nothing to do with the point.....are we, the country with the most advanced military on earth leaving two countries whose people fought us off with small arms and improvised bombs?...easy question spiffy......
Occupying force that wants to be treated as liberators
Are we leaving or staying? Do we have the most powerful, best equiped and trained military in the world? Are we leaving after fighting people armed with rifles, pistols and improvised bombs?
I know you are slow...so I will just give you the answers...yes, yes, and yes.
The question is could armed Jews have held off the Nazis?
The Nazis were willing to give up millions of deaths and would inflict retribution not just on the assassin but the whole community. So NO the Jews would not have held off the extermination
The U.S. Was not in the same boat in either Iraq or Afghanistan. Our public was not willing to accept the casualties we took. We were sold an occupation
First.....did the Jews have any weapons to begin with....no....they were as a people unarmed in every single country that was occupied by the Germans. So resisting was not possible.
Second, what about the rest of the people in those countries, they were occupied too, were they unarmed? Yes, they didn't have weapons either.
So, the one thing we know, that every people that suffers mass murder and genocide at the hands of their government are unarmed, usually disarmed by the very government that commits the genocide and mass murder.
History has one distinct lesson....unarmed people are easily slaughtered by their governments when their governments go bad.
That is why we have the 2nd Amendment...so that the temptation in the future to attack our people would be too costly for anyone in power.....that is why we do not plan on surrendering our weapons. Are we facing anything like they have in the past...no. Can we guarantee that it will never happen in the future? No. It is not our place to disarm future Americans just because we are fortunate to live in peaceful times.
And as to the Jews being armed.....it would have been much harder for the Germans to consolidate their early power if the Jews and other political enemies of the nazis had been armed. It is hard to beat, and murder people if they can fight back....an armed society is a civil society....Germany was an unarmed society...except for the barbarians...they had the guns......
And in those countries that were occupied....had hundereds of thousands of their people been well armed, the occupation of those countries would have been extremely difficult....as we have found against the barbarians in Iraq and Afghanistan......and Germany occupied a lot of territory.
And to the brutality of the nazis......it is easy to be brutal when the people you are murdering are unarmed.
We have seen how it works when the people have no weapons.........and you know what.....we would like to try the other option and see how that works out........
