Aye Carumba! Economic prodigy Ocasio-Cortez wants to know how GOP are going to pay for the tax cuts

She has a point .

Is the government supposed to run on smiles and sunshine?
No, but then, the government is only supposed to defend us and leave everything else up to the States.

That would be about 75% less than they spend now.

Hmmm no. That “defending “ part takes up like. 1/2 the budget .
About 17 percent of America's $4 trillion federal budget goes to the military, according to the Congressional Budget Office.Jun 19, 2018

She is pretty damn funny, everyone knows that the GOP does not give a rats ass about the debt or about growing deficits.
Like the GOP would ever cut spending to accompany a tax cut! What a silly little girl she is.
Well, I have the fix for that: Spending cuts FIRST.

Let's see them run and get elected on cutting Medicare, Medicaid, health care, education, Social Security, more social benefits and eight or nine large departments.

If they get elected, great, make the spending cuts first, then do the tax cuts.

But of course, they don't have the balls for that.

Only point she has is the one under her hat. Matches the one under yours.

We have a debt that keeps growing. Remember ? You cons crowed about it every day obama was in office .

Which has got what to do with the self-evident, inarguable fact that you do not "pay for" tax cuts?

While the wording is not precise, the idea behind them is. If you are going to cut revenue you should cut spending an equal or more amount.

You're such a fucken liar!
What does the federal government spend your tax dollars on? Social insurance programs, mostly

I would say a 1.5 to 1 rate. For every dollar cut in tax, cut $1.50 in spending. That has to be on top of the massive amount of slashing that needs to be done first.

The Feds need to repeal all budgetary items that place spending burdens on the States. They aren't funded anyway.

Then they need to reduce the Fed to just that which is authorized in the Constitution based upon their role in our society. That role is to be our representatives to the world and to settle disputes between the States.

Nothing more.

This is very true. Still isn't "paying for tax cuts".

Nope, she is an economic illiterate (just like you). SPENDING is the problem son, spending. Your position presupposes that ALL tender belongs to the Government and that we the people should be happy with anything they decide we can keep.

Actually, the federal government spends twice as much on tax expenditures as it does on social welfare.

Well, the good thing is that we'll see how supply side works. The deficit is ballooning. So, we should expect to see enough of an increase in tax receipts brought on by growth that they will more than "pay for" the tax cuts.

We're paying for this growth and laying it off on our kids, again. Let's see if it ends up paying for itself. If not...
.

everyone knows that 'trickle down' does not work, has never worked, and will never work.

The definitive attribute of 'trickle down' is the word 'trick' as the GOP uses the same ole 'trick' to try & make ignorant voters fall for the 'trickle down' scheme. It seems to have worked is the past & Trump & his minions have certainly revived 'trickle down.'
It is a 'trick' on the ignorant masses & they have fallen for it, again.

Really? Then why did the Hussein and the super majority Dem Congress choose to extend the evil “Bush Tax Cuts”? Oh yea, because Obama himself said raising taxes would hurt the economy.

Obama signs bill to extend Bush-era tax cuts for two more years

:lmao:

No its not a headline at the Onion.

US House candidate, NY-14

The House GOP wants to add *another* $2.4 trillion in tax cuts after already cutting $2 trillion in taxes on corporations & the very rich last December.

You ever notice how no one asks the GOP how *they’re* going to pay for it?

'Sit this one out, CLOWN'! Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez totally FACEPLANTS over GOP tax cuts
How are we going to pay for tax cuts?

Make Mexico pay

This is something which eludes Republicans. Their actions reveal that tax cuts should be followed by spending increases.

That's why deficits have skyrocketed since they got control of the purse strings, especially after Trump took office.

Just like the last time the GOP controlled Congress and the White House.

"Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result."

The question everyone should be asking is how the GOP plans to balance the budget.

Then they would see some weaving and dodging and lying like never before from Trump and the Republicans.

Because they don't have a plan.

There's no such thing as a stupid question. Only stupid people who jump up and down and shout "WHAT A STUPID QUESTION!!" because they don't have an answer.

Yeah, sorry. Googly-Eyes just made that cliche obsolete. Turns out there IS such a thing as a stupid question, and that was it.
