Audience Shouts Down Sebelius & Specter at

That explains it.....Kiwi.....I knew I could get a location if I pressed it....ran into some of those clowns in Singapore back in the 80's at TGIF in Far East Plaza.

Grump...you and your ilk are in the middle of no where....please worry about your giant crickets and tattooing your face......and fix all of those injustices you committed against the Maori people. After you have cleaned your own house then you can come here and throw stones at the American government and political system.

Oh great, that's all I need...another google fanatic passing themselves off as an historian.

youll survive Doc....give him 2 aspirin and tell him to come back tomorrow...

the memo the thinkprogress claims got people to these meetings

i doubt any of them had even seen it and were jsut pissed off at not being listened to
i know i would be

Would you complete and clarify your last sentence. You know that you would be pissed off if you thought that you were not being listened to? If so, then would you resort to being disruptive? You can speculate as you like. Perhaps they thought that they were not being heard. Yet, Obama clearly won the presidential election. Bush had won the previous election to the chagrin of Code Pink. Perhaps Code Pink felt as though it was not being heard by the Bush administration. Do condone the Code Pink strategy? Do you condone the antics of the protestors at Philadelphia?
it was complete
and you got it

code pink was disrupting congressional hearings, NOT a town hall meeting
there IS a difference

Code Pink may have done so, but I was not thinking of these disruptions. Fair enough. Do you condone the disruptive antics that were done by code Pink outside of Congressional meetings or unnecessary events? The following were certainly not necessary government events but were disrupted by Code Pink.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLMuvp2gnZ8]YouTube - PROTEST of BUSH at MONTICELLO - July 4th, 2008 - CODE PINK[/ame]

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSOn9L-Rx-4&NR=1]YouTube - Freedom of speech? - Bush Heckled "war criminal"[/ame]

What about this guy heckling Bush at an NAACP meeting. Why escort him away? Free Speech! Free Speech!

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJHzjIDAIVw]YouTube - Bush Heckled at NAACP Meeting[/ame]

Perhaps this Code Pink lady did not think that she was being heard?

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAA_xw4v1nM]YouTube - John McCain's Big RNC Moment Interrupted by Code Pink[/ame]

Do you condone disrupting these events? If not, they why condone the antics in Philadelphia?

1) I'm not a liberal

I'm finding that a little hard to believe. But I'll reserve judgement.

2) If you don't have a plan, then stop bitching and moaning until you have one
You act as if he or anyone here is privvy to the inner workings of the GOP. He may have a plan, but his plan is pretty much nothing unless he can sell it to the GOP.

3) Laws of the land are not made in a vacuum, so unless you have something better to offer nobody will vote for the GoP in the 2010 elections based on party policies, only on their hate of the other side.

I find this interesting. The Democrat party didn't have a plan either. They just kept repeating that they were not Bush. Turns out, they were Bush to the nth degree. Just look at all the programs that Bush started and they have expanded upon. A vacuum? The Democrat party is nothing but a vacuum. But the Democrats didn't have a plan either. They still don't. Nor do they have a clue.

4) How does the above benefit anybody?
It doesn't and it never will. People need to get back to the basics in this country and stop thinking that they can have their entire Christmas list every time.

Adults realize that you just can't have everything in life.

Does anyone else besides xenophon and divecon think that the insurance companies and big pharma support healthcare reform/a public option?
The real question is, is there anyone as naieve as you on this issue.

Like all idiot lemmings you sit there and do what your told, believe what they tell you without looking at all at what really goes on.

thats why he/she is known far and wide as the Political Junk Poster.....

Can't speak for any other political system but my own. If an MP puts forward a piece of legislation, on say mining - then that legislation relates only to mining and nothing else. Somebody seconds the bill and it is read through Parliament. If it gets a second reading, the MPs vote, and that piece of legislation on mining - and MINING only - either becomes law or it doesn't (depending on the vote). Sounds easy to me....shrug....nothing attached, no hidden pork, no unrelated matter attached on the end. go figure....

yea its amazing how there always has to be a pork loin inserted somewhere in a bill.....

Back to the issue at hand, they will NEVER be able to sell this as popular, people were uneasy about the stimulous and they forced it through, they didn't want cap & trade and still did it, now they are livid and adamantly against this bill, if they again force the issue the voters will make them pay for it.

Fine. Then they should have raised their hands and given educated question. They could have recorded the event. Then they could have distributed excerpts of the meeting to people encouraging them to vote against such policies that Sebelius & Specter were advocating. They could have sent flyers, written letters to the editors, bought radio and television time, etc. They could have encouraged people to vote against such polititions in the next election. Instead, I think that they did more harm to their supposed cause than good. By ranting, shouting, and booing, I think that they came across as a group of ignorant, belligerent, loud, hateful right-winger.

I disagree.

They should have done exactly what they did.

They should have demanded answers, not talking points. They should stop them from talking the moment they utter a falsehood and they should be called on it each and every time.

These two and a vast majority of the left have been telling the same lies over and over again in order to make it true when in fact, they are spinning faster then tops.

It is way past time that the Citizens of this country stop accepting their platitudes and start demanding hard answers.

Answers that can be attached to the politicians at a later date.

WRONG WRONG! YOU LIE!! BOO! HISS!! YOU ARE NOT LISTENING!!! LIE!! BOO!! HISS!! Speak the TRUTH!!!

The problem you are having is, you can't handle dissenting opinion without trying to make it personal, insulting or belittling.

Those are the earmarks of the ideolouge, someone who only believes their own side and attempts to belittle and silence opposing speech.

I could cut and paste your comment replacing 'right-winger' with 'left-winger' and it was exactly was what the Bushbots said about opposing speech.

You bring up an interesting point. Out there in America there are probably 10s of millions of centrist Americans who didn't vote, but have a POV. Where are they? And why don't they start a third party.
I have never seen so much vitriol in US politics than I have since the past 10 years. It seems the extreme left and right have hijacked politics and left the majority marginalised, which is shown by the poor turnout in the election...

nothing is going to change dipshit....so yea they are saying....hey we support this.....we are behind this.....if they dont find a way to reign in the cost....nothing will change....you will just get the basics from the NHC.....ill stick with Blue Shield....i get MUCH more than the BASICS with them......
It's amazing that you'd stick with Blue Shield, when you say they support healthcare reform. I thought you were against reform.

One wonders how long before one of those town meetings become a riot?

What happens when people interested in disrupting the event encounter people who are not willing to let them disrupt it?

I'm not sure I'd stay civil if I were there and thought that there was a concerted effort to stop me from hearing what was going on, folks.

FWIW, I saw nothing in the video that I would have personally objected to.

People asking pointed questions, people questioning the wisdom of the policy are certainly without their rights.

Seems to me that that's really the purpose of those town hall meetings.

To give the people the opportunity to hear what is being said and to respond to it honestly.

I'm afraid I don't understand why this is being discussed as if it had meaning. We've already discussed the fact that the RNC directive is that their loons shout down everyone at town hall meetings to prevent intelligent discussion.

so why bother pretending that it's people who are "outraged" and not RNC-bots?

*shrug*

Either this is an indicator of legitimate complaints by legitimate citizens or else a staged demonstration. Time will tell...the staged demo people will tire, legitimate complaints will continue.

I watched the whole thing!!!!
It was hilarious to see those 2 dumb asses (Sebelius and Specter) make complete fools out of themselves in front of millions of voters and hundreds of their own constituents.

Democrat values exposed!

I know, Did you see both of their faces? The shocked carpetbaggers had the look on their faces like "oh my god is someone actually questioning this madness"? Specter looked like the typical fence sitting, half dead sell out bottomfeeder that we all know that he is, a puke that stands alone. However, That wench Sebelius reminded me of some tight assed Librarian that couldn't believe that someone actually spoke inside the Library. Watch it again, what an arrogant bitch. These idiots in D.C need a wake up call, and it's coming to a theater near them real soon. The sooner they are out of office, the bettter for The United States of America. ~BH

Yes, he had the same look on his face that my Congressman did in 1972 when he was giving a talk on how we were winning Viet Nam at my high school when I asked him how we knew we were winning when we couldn't tell who our friends and who the enemy were.

Like drinking milk right after eating some pineapple.

I watched the video...looked like a textbook example of the exercise of the First Amendment to me.

Nope... textbook example of following the instructions given to the wingers that we were talking about in this thread:

http://www.usmessageboard.com/politics/83796-gop-strategy-disrupted-dem-town-hall-meetings.html

You're assuming every republican got that memo and you're also assuming all those people are republicans. I hope you can support your assumptions with facts.

But of course you can't.

Hey I know .. why don't you blame Bush!?!?!?!

The classic "Biden" that Sebelious said was "Stop yelling at Senator Specter!! The Senate hasn't even written a bill yet!!!!"
and this was said right after Specter said "My staffers are reading the bill and making hasty decisions."

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

With these 2 dipsh!ts and Biden...the entertainment value in the White House and Congress just increased 3 fold!!!
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
You just can't make this stuff up!!!!!

Please don't make me start pulling out Bush and Quayle quotes. I've got reams of them...

You can't defend Obama so you do the next best thing. ..bash Bush.
